Mandoon Estate winemaker Ryan Sudano reports that "low crops and nice heat have created wonderful intensity and flavours in everything harvested so far...berries ripe with flavour and ready to go, exciting times ahead.".

08.01.2022 Happy International Womens Day! Now, we all know the saying that "behind every great man there is an even greater woman" - right? Hands up though, who here has ever heard the name Matilda Roe (Bennett)? Matilda was the lady beside Mandoon Estates founder, John S. Roe. Mother of thirteen children, she held the household up as he laid the foundations for Mandoon Estate and all of Perth as the first Surveyor-General of WA. Ever wondered who Matilda B...ay was named after? One more fun fact before you kick on with the days celebrations. Matilda was an avid gardener. Her garden was so stunning it spilled onto the pavement and the road was actually built around it. And THAT is why there is a little bend in the road between St Georges Terrace and Adelaide Terrace. Join Dale at Mandoon Estate on 28 November or on the 17th December as we taste some traditional bush food and listen to stories from decades past about indigenous farming methods and the history of the Noongar peoples from this ancient land. 07.01.2022 This is our kitchen. This morning we should have had 18 chefs working to provide amazing food for more than 400 visitors. We should have someone answering the phones. We should have a team of people preparing our restaurants. We should have people mowing the lawns. We should be having meetings with brides and grooms for this weekend. The hospitality and tourism industry has been left devastated by this virus. Many of our team are left without employment - and it is th...ese people that have made Mandoon Estate such an iconic venue not only in Western Australia, but Australia. As a family business it is absolutely heart wrenching to see our teams lives affected like this. From our local growers of fruit and veg to the farmers who collect the spent grain from our Brewery - no-one has been left untouched. This soft and approachable style of red stands out on it's own but really shines when blended with other grape varieties. Our own 2017 Cabernet Merlot for example is a wine of intense fruit character, elegance and provenance. This beauty even brought home a trophy from the Australia and New Zealand boutique wine show!
