24.01.2022 Gilbert & Sons in Mandurah is running the Peel Schools Benefit Program. Parents can sign up to the program and nominate their preferred school. They receive a 'loyalty' card to use whenever they do their shopping at Gilbert & Sons. The loyalty 'points' that they earn will flow to the school they have nominated. When target limits are reached, schools will be presented with a cheque to be used as the school deems appropriate. This is their way of saying 'thank you' and giving back something small to a cause that really matters to everyone. Representatives from Gilbert & Sons recently visited the Primary School to present a cheque of $1200. Thank you to all of our parents and community members for supporting our school. For more information about the program, please visit https://www.gilbertandsons.com.au/support-our-schools

05.01.2022 Today, the Year 6 classes worked together to bring their Market Stalls to the school. During H.A.S.S and Christian Education this term, they have been learning about other countries and about those that live in poverty. As well, we have been learning about the economic situations of these places and how to be Good Samaritans. We look at organisations that help those living below the line and how we can contribute to making their lives better. ... As a school, we support Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, by collecting shoeboxes to send overseas to children living in poverty. Each box costs $10 to send. To help send these boxes, the Year 6’s work in groups to develop a business plan. They run a market stall with the aim of raising the most amount of money over and above the amount needed to cover their costs.
