25.01.2022 The second year of MCC Junior MasterChef has come to a close with all students producing high quality dishes. The final round required students to produce a dessert with a seasonal fruit, which resulted in fruit tarts, brownies and raspberry coulis and German blueberry cake. Isaak Gallagher was the winner of MCC Junior MasterChef 2020, with runner up Ryan Muir and Mikaylee Magno close behind. Coordinating teacher Miss Hannah Bent said, "I am proud and humbled by the creativity of the participants!"

21.01.2022 Celebrating the end of the 2020 Mock Trial Competition. Well done to our students who did exceptionally well during the shortened competition this year.

20.01.2022 Another outstanding sporting achievement for endurance runner Pyper Warren! Pyper represented the College recently at the All Schools Championships, receiving a Bronze medal for her 800m race and shaving 11 seconds off her time for a new Personal Best. Pyper also placed fourth in the 1500m, taking 15 seconds off her time. Well one Pyper!

18.01.2022 Charlie Andrews (Year 8) and Joseph Macdonald (Year 10) have been selected as WABL 'All-Stars' for their excellent form for the Mandurah Magic during the 2020 WA Basketball League Season. Charlie was selected in the Under 14 Championship Division and Joe in the Under 16 Championship Division. This is especially noteworthy as it is the opposition coaches who vote on the players selected. Well done boys!

15.01.2022 The Year 6 Interschool Cricket Teams competed last Friday at Bortolo Reserve. Both teams had a great day with the girls team finishing tied in 4th place. The boys were undefeated going into the final round but Ocean Road Primary were too strong on the day. Thank you to the Year 8 students who umpired for the day.

13.01.2022 Earlier this week, 30 Year 4 students were lucky enough to compete in a round-robin, mini tennis competition at Mandurah Tennis Club. It was an amazing day full of brilliant sportsmanship, fun and hard work from each and every one of them. Mr Archer and Miss Laity were so proud of them! Congratulations Year 4s on a wonderful day.

12.01.2022 Primary and Secondary students enjoyed Library in the Park recently. Students poured out of their classrooms at lunch to find books, games and activities set up for them. Library in the Park is a chance to showcase what happens in the Library everyday. This event lets students know what they may be missing out on as well as promoting literacy. Activities included the pop-up library, an audio book through wireless headphones, story reading, giant chess, giant Connect 4, giant Jenga, and checkers. Mr Garratt's story reading was popular as usual!

10.01.2022 Year 7 students celebrated their journey in 2020 at our Year 7 Family Liturgy. They reflected on the importance of family and thanked God for their family and the support they provide. During the reflection, students were asked to share what family meant to them. Year 7 student, Jack Bevan, summed it up beautifully when he stated family is everything. Thank you to all families who attended.

10.01.2022 The gym was filled with excitement during lunchtimes at the end of last week, as the Year 9s had a chance to participate in a fun competition of dodgeball! Congrats to 'scollies' who were the champions in the end. Everyone who participated did a great job and had a blast.

05.01.2022 The Primary students participated in a fantastic incursion from Nature Play Solutions last week, to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day - a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child’s day. Each class had the chance to get extremely dirty and explore and play in the mud, which was specially brought in. The Mud Incursion ideally provided the opportunity to engage children in a unique and fun play activity. The students even had the chance to drench their teachers - Poor Miss Laity and Mrs King!

04.01.2022 One of the great things about being a K-12 College is that the Secondary students get to try out their writing and reading skills and the Primary students get to enjoy listening to the fantastic stories. The Year 8 Italian students have been working on their stories this term and were able to share them with the Year 3 students this morning.

02.01.2022 Last week students of MCC Junior MasterChef produced a dish where potatoes were the star of the show! From crispy potato tornados to creamy potato bake and potato croquettes, the participants showcased their cookery skills as well as knowledge of ingredient selection. Stay tuned for the final round of MCC Junior MasterChef in Week 6!

02.01.2022 During this term, Year 5 have been studying Chemical Science and have been lucky to access the Secondary Science labs. In the first lesson Mr Proctor gave us a run down on how to use a Bunsen burner, as well as explaining the safety procedures of the labs. This week, we became scientists as we conducted a number of experiments exploring ways in which solids, liquids and gases change under different conditions. A big thank you to Mr Proctor, Ms Paget and all the Science staff for their help; we have all learned so much!

01.01.2022 With the Year 11s and 12s out of the school last week, it was time for the middle years to have some fun! 6 Year 9 basketball teams participated in a tournament with the grand final held on Friday. The game was a nail-biter! A tie saw the teams having to play into extra time. Congratulations to 'Bachelors' who were victorious in the end. Everyone who played did a great job and had had a blast.

01.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, after four years of war, the guns of the Western Front fell silent. More than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, during this conflict alone. On Remembrance Day, we observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. Although Remembrance Day is different this year, we will commemorate the sacrifices made by our antecedents and give thanks for the freedoms we have been afforded.
