25.01.2022 Well after a little break by the committee and all our volunteers we are back in to the full swing of things at the shed. The doors to the shed were officially ...opened again Monday morning and although we had a little break over the Christmas / new year period we were still on hand to ensure new kids arriving in to care were well catered for. Our volunteers couldn't help themselves and during their break they all popped in to the shed to sort clean and get everything in order ready for Monday's opening. Your support over the last year has simply been amazing, we could not have done what we did in the past 12 months without your support. We say it all the time, as a 100% volunteer operated charity the difference we make to children in foster care and their carers simply could not occur without your support. Our 2020 Christmas Party (even with a bit of rain) was a huge success with over 800 attending the event. On top of this we provided gifts to many many children living in group homes and thanks to Rotary Club Mandurah Districts we were able to grant one lucky teenager living in a group home his wish of having a mountain bike. This is something he had been asking for, for a long time and once we found out he had no Christmas tree or presents to go under that tree, we got moving and made sure his wish was granted again this was only possible due to the support of all of you. 2021 already looks like we are going to be super busy and we have lots of plans in the pipeline to continue to brighten the lives of children living in foster care. We cant wait to have you all on board again this year and invite you to be part of our family to continue to brighten the lives of these children. I huge shout out must go to all the kids out there whos parents continue to message us and ask how their kids can be involved in supporting their peers. We have kids already swinging in to action this year collecting new PJ's, Underwear and toys. quiet a few of our supporters over the last few weeks have been making donations to our account which assists us to keep our doors open so thank you and all those people who continue to donate their containers for change and use our code we thank you. Our wonderful volunteers in the community who are collection points and ensure all the donations get to us, you guys are simply amazing because without you we could not stock the shed. Once again we are looking for volunteers to assist in the shed for a couple of hours each day, if you have some spare time once a week / fortnight and can make it to Mandurah we would love to hear from you.
