19.01.2022 As an essential service, we will continue to operate to enable access to medical, healthcare, grocery, agricultural and trade supplies, and to allow residents a...nd workers to travel to and from the island. We do prefer that people purchase tickets online or use non-cash payment options wherever possible to minimise cash-handling. While using the ferry service, you should continue to practice good hygiene, adopt social distancing and remain inside your vehicle where possible. If you are required to self-isolate or are feeling unwell, you should not use the ferry service. For the latest information about COVID-19 in Tasmania, please go to www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au or call the national 24-hour COVID-19 line on 1800 020 080. The coronavirus website has more details about what constitutes essential travel.

16.01.2022 Hotel Bruny is OPEN today. Serving all your favourite takeaways and Bruny's best takeaway pizza. Bottle shop will be open also all day.... We will keep regular daily updates online as we navigate our way through this crazy time. Thank you to our amazing and brave staff who have come to work today knowing that they don't have any shifts for the foreseeable future, yet have still helped us clean, clear and serve the people of Bruny Island. We will soon be launching an expanded takeaway menu together with take-home food options and are talking with others on the island about the possibility of a delivery service. PLEASE help us to keep the wheels turning and to keep our amazing extended family employed.

13.01.2022 SeaLink are pleased to announce a new timetable effective from Friday 5th June 2020, adding an additional 19 services a week to the current timetable. Like all... Tasmanians, we are pleased to see the reduction to Stage 2 restrictions and we will be running an additional ferry to support travel at peak times over this long weekend. We appreciate that the community relies on the ferry for connections to the mainland, which the restrictions and the ferry timetable can impact. Thank you to the community for your feedback, patience and understanding we are listening. We are committed to working with the Government and community stakeholders to ensure that the service delivers a timetable that is both effective and sustainable.

10.01.2022 Christmas lunch. In an eleventh hour decision, we have decided to open for Christmas lunch - it didn't sit right with us that there wouldn't be a single place o...pen to feed hungry Bruny bellies on Christmas, so we have assembled the perfect team of hospo orphans for the task. May as well be a work family for Christmas! So, on December 25th, our team will assemble and serve delicious Christmas lunches of your choosing - may it be a parma or other item from the menu, or one of our Christmas specials (TBA, but anticipate some classic Christmas themes + yummy local produce)! Hampers are still available to order for dinner/lunch - please get any last orders to us within the next 24 hours. Christmas lunch bookings are strongly recommended - last orders at 2:30pm as we are closed for the evening - yes, we are still going to go fishing ! Although it is hard to anticipate how busy we will be, we do know that we will be the only place open & the best way to make sure that you don't miss out is to get your name on our list! Ho ho ho!

07.01.2022 Great News! We are planning to reopen the Cape Bruny Lighthouse for tours on the 20th of June for weekends, public holidays and school holidays. We will revise ...the operation days as we move through the next few months. We have new safe operating procedures in place and compliant with the new Covid19 safe operating guidelines. Social distancing restrictions means that we have reduced tour capacity to five guests on each fully guided lighthouse tour. Please book ahead if you can, to ensure you get your preferred tour time and to avoid disappointment. This will avoid any queuing and the unnecessary use of credit cards and cash at the lighthouse. Again, we highly recommend that you book your time-slot well in advance to avoid congregation at the carpark and lighthouse. Prices have been reduced this year: $10 Adults $5 Children (5 11 years) (Under 5 years old are not allowed to climb the lighthouse) Tour duration around 20 minutes Tour times: 10am, 10:30am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, 2:30pm and 3pm www.capebrunylighthouse.com We look forward to seeing you all soon.
