Salvatore: For years I watched the vineyard grow from seedlings to harvest and more recently to overseeing the production of our first bottles of wine. At the start it seemed to take an eternity but now I can appreciate all the investment and sacrifices that goes into each glass of wine. I’m proud to have created the vini.cali chapter for my family. Mario: After 20 years in Australia I can call it my home, but my roots will always be in Sicily. Every time I set foot in the vineyard I feel like I’ve never left. And with COVID travel restrictions in place at the moment, every sip of wine is a precious moment in time where I can be transported to the slopes of Etna through the aromas and flavours that were my backyard.

03.01.2022 Fanciulla Etna Bianco DOC 2019 A couple of days ago we officially ‘corked’ our first vintage of Etna Bianco white wine, a celebration of the carricante, cataratto and grillo grape varieties grown on the slopes of Mt Etna. This bottle of wine is the result of many sacrifices by our family and a steep learning curve on pruning, harvesting, cellaring, design, bottling and so much more, with many hours spent together and over video calls in two different time zones to make it all... happen. We started this journey 5 years ago and this bottle represents just the first step. We are so happy with the results to date and can't wait to share it with you. Our next step is to bring this wine to Australian tables so that you can try it for yourselves. We’d love for you to join us on this journey. Cheers!
