09.01.2022 Coming to Manhood men's weekend Nov 8th-10th? We asked one of the men who went to Men Connect day, also on the topic of Celebrating Healthy Masculinity, what he thought about it. Here's what he said: "In July, I attended the Men Connect gathering at the beautiful Kupidabin Wilderness at the foothills of Mt Samson. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I need not have worried. Within no time of arriving I was greeted by some old, familiar faces and I also met some new and fri...endly men. There was a healthy turn out and we were all there to discuss the gathering's theme of "Celebrating Healthy Masculinity". Under the skilful guidance of several experienced men, we participated in several workshops that explored what 'healthy masculinity' means for each man. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was such a gift to be able to talk about these matters, and hear from others about their views and experiences, in a safe space with other men who are seeking to be the best version of themselves. I left Men Connect feeling pride in my healthy masculine ways. While there is definitely room for improvement, during the discussions I was able to identify many facets of my life where I am embodying and modelling healthy masculinity. Many of these I hadn't previously thought about too much. The day flew by very quickly. Thankfully, this year's Manhood theme of 'Exploring Healthy Masculinity' will provide me with another solid opportunity to dig deeper and discuss this topic with other men. It is a juicy topic and there's ample room for different views and perspectives. Being part of this conversation gives me perspective and the confidence to live in healthy masculine ways that are essential to me."
