11.01.2022 If you live outside of a major city/town, you are eligible for up to 20 bulk-billed (free) psychology appointments over Skype (video call). The 20 appointments ...are available under 2 Medicare programs: 10 under a mental health care plan (GP referral needed), and 10 under the bushfire program (no referral needed). Read further to see if you are eligible for one of these programs. Mental Health Care Plan: The mental health care plan program gives you 10 appointments per year and is available for everyone! To get a plan, simply make an appointment with your GP and ask for one. Bushfire Program: The bushfire program gives you 10 appointments per year and is available to anyone who had an adverse change in their mental health as a result of a bushfire which occurred in the 201920 financial year. No referral is needed to access the bushfire program. Some examples of events that indicate you are eligible for the bushfire program: 1. You or your family were evacuated from your home. 2. Harm came to you or your family, your property, or your livelihood. 3. You or a member of your family was an emergency service worker. 4. You witnessed anything throughout the bushfire period that caused you to feel strong negative emotion. 5. You felt strong anxiety, fear, or despair due to the bushfire threat. The mental impacts from the bushfires can lead to the development or uncovering of underlying mental issues. For this reason, the mental issues you are seeking therapy for (anxiety, depression, addiction, etc.) do not need to be solely caused by the bushfires. For more information or to book an appointment please call us on 1300 813 307. Or visit us at https://www.remotetherapy.com.au Reception hours are between 8:30am and 5:30pm AEST, Monday to Friday. All the best, Joe Schmierer Director at Remote Therapy

09.01.2022 JUST IN: The Festival organisers has recommended that the 2021 Tamworth's Toyota Country Music Festival be cancelled. Due to the current law that determines "fe...stivals" and large gatherings to be illegal activities, Tamworth Regional Council cannot, in good conscience, continue with the event in its traditional sense. The health and safety of the community, the artists, and any visitors have been the main priority of Festival organisers throughout the scenario planning. The suspension of the Festival, which has a 49-year history, has not been considered lightly. Months of in depth consultations have taken place with NSW Police, Hunter New England Health Festival sponsors and stakeholders to reach this point. Tamworth Regional Council will be putting forward a recommendation to Councillors to suspend Council managed events for the 2021 Toyota Country Music Festival. The recommendation, if approved, would see the annual presentation of the Country Music Awards of Australia, the Toyota Golden Guitar Awards, be the only Festival activity that continues, and it would do so via an online stream on the night.
