17.01.2022 It has been an extremely busy term for students in S3H. We have been improving our inferential comprehension skills through our novel study "The One and Only Ivan" and enjoying the Creative Arts activities that have been linked to the novel. In our novel, Ruby (a baby elephant) asks Ivan (a silverback gorilla) to tell her an elephant joke. We hope you like our elephant jokes we came up with to help Ruby. We are looking forward to comparing the novel to the Disney movie that ...has recently been released. In our Unit of Inquiry we have been examining factors that shape places, looking closely at different biomes and how humans and other things such as natural disasters impact on the environment. We have investigated the local government's role in managing places, facilities and services in our town and been examining local issues and projects in the Manilla community. We have also been improving our geographical study skills by learning about data collection methods such as surveys. Student's enjoyed creating their own 'biome in a box' to demonstrate their understanding of a natural biome, and are now using their knowledge to write a persuasive text to teach others how to protect that biome. Mrs Hawley S3H Class Teacher

Introductions - a short speech introducing yourself and your favourite Suncorp super netball player and why. Points are awarded for each challenge if you fulfil the criteria with the task.
