23.01.2022 Golf Shots We have had a bit of fun this week with all the goings on that are around us. We are dealing with it as it comes to hand and our club really appreciate your co operation. Golf is still being played with the new rules in operation. So on Thursday morning the eleven hole par event went ahead as usuall, Wayne Garnsey got the win with minus three. Michael Sykes runner up minus 5 and balls went to Greg Jacobs and Geoff clapson on minus 7.The course is throwing it all at... the golfers at the moment with grass on the fairways, this is a bit new to the players since the drought and no grass. Saturday afternoon nine hole stableford was played with a good line up of golfers but I didn’t get the cards for results so until next week for this spot. Sunday was the DD Services Dale and Stacey Dodson sponsored event, seeing Wayne Garnsey again winning with a 30 nett. Runner up Charlie McLaughlin had 34 and Mitch Seadon was third with 35 nett. Balls went to Eddie Lockrey 35.5, Terry Laws 38, Graham Bell, Terry Lovegrove 38.5, Ian Paull 39 and Geoff Clapson 39.5. With the new rules for personal hygiene safety there were no nearest the pins. I hope that every one is taking care of them selves and if you feel like a game of golf we are trying to function as normally as we can. This week our Thursday morning eleven hole stroke event from 8 to 8.30 am, Saturday afternoon nine hole stableford will be from 2 pm as I think it is near enough to daylight saving time ending. and our Sunday event will be the Ian Paull trophy from 8 to 9 am. 21.01.2022 OK, so this is the latest decision by the board. Golf course open for social golf only, all social distancing laws must be obeyed. No take away available. Enjoy your exercise stay well and follow the rules or the place will close again. But it won't be our doing.... Cheers Tim

19.01.2022 OK some good news out of the committee tonight. We have decided to run 18 hole comps again starting on Sunday 9th August. two start times so any early players can get going from 8 to 8.30am with the 9 hole chook run still teeing off at this timae as well. A later start for those who want a sleep in on Sundays with a second round of tee times from 10.30 to 11am. I hope every one understands that all the covid rules still apply for all our golf events and club house activity will be at the restricted social distancing and every one has to record thier attendance on our covid register sheet. 17.01.2022 Latest news for our club is. We are closed, here is the information from Stuart Fraser CEO Golf NSW Dear Member Clubs and Districts,... On Sunday, March 29, The Prime Minister announced a tightening of restrictions in relation to social gatherings and self-isolation of the elderly in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Following advice from the NSW State Government and the NSW Office of Sport, it is Golf NSW’s recommendation that all golf courses in NSW close at midnight on March 30, 2020, until further notice. Clubs are advised that golf course maintenance may continue as long as staff adhere strictly to social distancing requirements. Further information will be communicated to clubs as it comes to hand. The NSW stance is consistent with similar decisions being made in other States and Territories, with regular communications also being provided by Golf Australia. Following the announcement of further restrictions by the Prime Minister last night concerning the containment of the COVID-19 virus, Golf NSW can confirm via the Office of Sport - NSW Government, that NSW golf clubs can continue golfing operations, on the condition that spatial/social distancing regulations are adhered to. Professional shops are also able to service members and their golfing needs, as long as spatial/social distancing regulations are adhered to in regard to both staff and customers. Clubhouse operations continue to remain closed, however, club amenities such as toilets/restrooms may be accessed, as long as spatial/social distancing regulations are adhered to. The regulations allowing clubs to offer takeaway food and drinks remain unchanged, as long as they are consumed off-premise, and in line with spatial/social distancing regulations. In light of the above, let's work together to ensure that the play of golf continues through these tough times. A single instance where social distancing and other regulations are not followed could result in the entire state being banned from playing a game that maintains our health, both physical and mental when we need it most. It is up to both Clubs and Players to ensure that: NO sharing of golf carts. Consider removing cart use all together Increase intervals between tee times Play in groups of 2 or 3 Adhere to the 4 square metre distancing rules as a minimum No presentations at the conclusion of competitions Leave the doors to Pro Shops open Introduce the new modified Rules of Golf so that flag sticks and bunker rakes aren't touched Reduce hole depth Disinfect carts before and after use Don't attend the golf club if you feel ill, or have been in contact with someone who is Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands Don't shake hands Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth because your hands touch many different surfaces and can easily pick up viruses Let's create a culture that ensures we can keep our doors open. 12.01.2022 Further to my post this afternoon, at a specially convened board meeting the board have decxided to carry on with golf at Manilla. All comp gollf will be nine (9) hole single events with a max. playing group to be three. Green fee and comp fee will be the usual $10 and it would be apreciated if you have the correct money when you pick up your card from the window. We can only run this as outlined in my earlier post going on the information supplied by NSW Golf CEO" Stuart Fr...aser. So please read all the regulations and follow them to the letter or this may not be available to the members. I hope that every one is sensible about the COVID19 virus that is getting closer to Manilla than we want it. We are only carrying on with golf as directed by the Government and our governing body Golf NSW. They have set our newest rules and if we want to keep playing we need to maintain our own and every bodies personal seperation as directed. There will be no presentation and it is advised that people finish golf place thier score cards in the box provided. Results will be posted on this site and prizes can be collected from the club pro shop area when attended. I hope not to bore you with too much of this but take care and enjoy your activity. 08.01.2022 OK guy and gals, there seems to be a bit of confusion. Golf is on, comps are Thursday morning 11 hole, Saturday afternoon nine hole stableford and Sunday comp. Take away can be purchased from the pro shop and consumed on course but not at the club house. I hope this clarifies a few issues and I will be about this week. Cheers Tim,
