21.01.2022 From one of the nurses in Maningrida: "There is definitely a constant undercurrent of stress - the calm before the storm. All leave is cancelled, so people who rely on having a break out of community are unable to undertake that self-care. There is a constant vigilance for spotting the first COVID case, and all without the support of the specialists that visit regularly, including dentist, physio, diabetes educator, podiatrist, etc. We are all bracing for when the roads are fully opened (currently closed due to crossings being flooded in the wet season)."
