21.01.2022 You should try out our new venue and what better time than this Friday's show. Six times Golden Guitar winning band The Flood fronted by one of Australia's best - Kevin Bennett - is joined by Mimosa duo (heard many times on ABC radio) and soloist Glenn Keith Bidmead. Tables are well spread & you choose your table seating density. All this for $30 at the Seaforth Bowling club in North Balgowlah. Come & enjoy with other music lovers at the same time helping to keep Sydney live music alive in these strange times. Full details at www.themanlyfig.org www.themanlyfig.org

20.01.2022 I have just been told by a very depressed club manager that they have been directed to close their doors effective immediately due to the Covid outbreak in SW Sydney. That of course means not only that the show on Saturday (18th July) is cancelled but all other future shows have become very doubtful. Can you please advise the others at your table of this horrid development. The future shows planned will be reevaluated 10 days before each one in case the venue becomes availab...le again. Thanks for supporting live music, Steve www.themanlyfig.org

19.01.2022 In an effort to support artists & fans alike during this traumatic time in the music industry we are starting live shows in July - on Saturday 18th and Friday 31st. The govt restrictions have forced a number of changes. Our audience size must be more than halved and to compensate our ticket price will increase to $30. Even then the artists will probably receive 35% less than normal. Our artists for the show on the 18th are Kevin Bennett & The Floodd (Aria nominated & six Golden Guitar awards), Glenn Bidmead and Taylor B-W. To book email [email protected]. for full details see www.themanlyfig.org

19.01.2022 I'm trying to contact Mitch Anderson to offer him a gig here without success. I've tried phone, email & FB. Anyone know where he is?

18.01.2022 Looking forward to what should be one of our best shows ever tonight. Owen Campbell (3 top 10 Itunes albums), Mimosa (ABC radio regulars) and multi-award winning band - Hussy Hicks are all brilliant.

12.01.2022 We're very sorry to announce that out next show (15th August) is cancelled as the bowlo has again decided not to let us use their facility

09.01.2022 Great news. We've found a new venue while Covid restrictions are on and are restarting Friday 28 August. As we have so many regulars we're unlikely to fit them all in so we're having an extra show each month. One on the last Friday and a 2nd two Fridays before. Our new place is Seaforth Bowling club, Kirkwood St, North Balgowlah and it is very comfortable. Our first show features Barry Leef with his all-star band, the Simon Kinney-Lewis trio (playing tracks from his #1 album), ARIA award winner Shanley Del with talented hubbie James Gillard. 08.01.2022 Who remembers this magic moment six years ago when Beautifully Mad performed? #flashbackFriday

07.01.2022 RNB has done this every show for many years

07.01.2022 Our show this Friday is sold out & has a big standby queue so best not trying to book now. Thanks to all you live music fans

06.01.2022 I'm sorry to advise that once again the bowlo has closed its doors to The Fig so our 31st July show is also cancelled

06.01.2022 This is the most amazing talent. Don't turn off before about 1.30 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIbAmZZ_F5U

06.01.2022 Musos may be able to get financial & other help here https://supportact.org.au/get-help-2/

05.01.2022 The bowling club has 'pulled the plug' saving us a very difficult decision about next week's show. It is cancelled or perhaps delayed to a future date. I wish places like us could keep the music ( and artists' income) flowing in these hard times but it cannot be. We wish you safety, peace of mind with lots of love & kindness in the months to come. Love, Robbie & Steve

04.01.2022 I've just been analysing the latest Cova stats & they are not all bad news for we Aussies. Of our 3800+ cases so far, less than 20 are of kids under 10. Only 21 cases are serious or critical. Only 2 people under 70 have died & they were already sick. The ratio of deaths to reported cases for people in their 70's is 2%, in their 80's is 3% but for those in their 90's it is high at 38%. In summary - if you're under 70 don't worry about yourself but diligently avoid risking transmission to the very elderly - grandparents, parents, aunts & uncles, or people with certain health problems. We are currently increasing cases by about 13% per day indicating 1 million cases in Oz by mid-May but with very low fatalities if we keep our elderly safe.

04.01.2022 We hope you are all safe but especially that you are in good spirits. In Italy, by far the most infected country in the world (per capita), the infection rate is still less than 1 person in 5,000 and fatalities 1 in 30,000. There is a higher chance of being killed in a car accident in Australia. There is surely worse to come for us in Oz but I suggest we keep living, loving & laughing while taking the best precautions against infecting ourselves & others. Our March show is cancelled as the bowling club has closed its doors to protect its members which are in the highest risk category. April, May & June shows are still scheduled but will be reviewed a few weeks before each show. Best regards, Robbie & Steve

03.01.2022 Great news!! It looks likely that The Fig will restart next month if we get enough interest from our regulars. We may even run it twice a month as we'll only be allowed to host 90-130 people www.themanlyfig.org
