21.01.2022 Making a will is a positive step you can take to make sure you: provide for the people you care about leave certain items to particular people give a gift to a charity appoint someone you trust as your executor ... leave instructions about your funeral Even if you don't own a house or have a lot of money, making a will removes the doubt about what your wishes are. It may be quicker and easier to do than you think and less expensive. Call or email us.

20.01.2022 WHAT IS A WILL & WHAT DOES ESTATE PLANNING MEAN A will helps to protect a person's assets ensuring that they end up being passed on to the intended person, in a... tax-effective way. Estate planning is how a person arranges their affairs in a way that protects their assets, protects them if they lose physical or mental capacity and makes sure that their assets pass, tax effectively, to their nominated beneficiaries. Planning would usually include making a Will, an Enduring Power of Attorney and appointment of an Enduring Guardian. Call or message us for more information.

13.01.2022 Are you a landlord, tenant or SME business owner? The National Cabinet Mandatory Code of Conduct imposes a set of good faith leasing principles for application to commercial tenancies (including retail, office & industrial) between owners/operators/other landlords and tenants, where the tenant is an eligible business for the purpose of the Commonwealth Government’s JobKeeper programme. 12.01.2022 HAS YOUR BUSINESS CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19? ARE YOU STRUGGLING TO PAY RENT & OVERHEADS? WHAT CAN YOU DO?......... Covid-19 has led to the closure of many businesses on the Northern Beaches. Some cafes and restaurants are serving take-away only, others have had to close completely. This is an incredibly stressful time for business owners. Many of you are asking where’s my next rent payment coming from?. If you are unable to meet the rent payments for your business you may be able to argue that your lease has been frustrated at law. This could lead to your rent obligations being set aside or at least be a good argument for having your rent reduced. A contract may be frustrated where, through no fault of either party circumstances change which make the contract impossible to perform or deprive the contract of its commercial purpose. Where a contract is found to be frustrated, each party is discharged from future obligations under the contract and neither party may sue for breach. If you would like to know more about your options as a commercial tenant, we can help. Call us on 02 9976 0231 or message us here or [email protected]. #stayathome #coronavirus #covid19 #lockdown2020 #socialdistancing #business #northernbeaches #manly #smallbusiness #SME #retail #cafemanly #legaladvice Manly Business Chamber

08.01.2022 Memo to Beaches drivers..... If you think we're not random breath testing, think again. Five drivers have had their licences suspended with court appearances pe...nding after being stopped on our roads over the weekend. All were mid and high range. #1 - Freshwater.... 2.20 am and the Honda CRV was moving unusually slowly along Harbord Road, swerving and just missing parked cars as it went. Stopped in Wyuna Avenue, the 29-year old with a Brazilian driver's licence was positive roadside and a high-range 0.168 at the station. #2 - Elanora Heights.... 10.45 pm and a white Mitsubishi ute was moving erratically on Pittwater Road and the Wakehurst Parkway at Narrabeen. Stopped as it turned onto the Elanora Road, the 27-year old local man was positive roadside and a high-range 0.189 at the station. #3 - Newport.... 1.20 am Sunday on the Barrenjoey Road and the car was clocked at 90 kph in a 60 zone. Signalled to stop, not only did the driver keep going, when he did pull over the 23-year old tried to do a runner. Positive roadside, back at the station he, too, was a high-range 0.174. Result: Driver's licence suspended; court appearance booked; speeding ticket issued. #4 - Avalon.... 7.20 pm Sunday and police patrolling Kevin Avenue pulled over a white Toyota ute for a random breath test. With a strong smell of alcohol and positive roadside test, the 42-year old local was a mid-range 0.124 at the station. Licence suspended; court appearance to follow three months out in June. #5 - Palm Beach.... 10.35 pm Sunday and a Mitsubishi Pajero swerved off the Barrenjoey Road, onto the roadside gravel and into the back of a parked Outlander. Instead of staying put to exchange details with the owner the driver backed out and kept going, but not before her registration was recorded and details sent to police. The badly damaged car was found about a kilometre down the road, engine still running. A 57-year old North Narrabeen woman failed the roadside test, returning a mid-range 0.111 at the station. Licence suspended, court appearance booked.

06.01.2022 It is business as usual, but not! A quick update for our clients who are concerned about contacting us during the distancing and working from home measures required due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time our office in Manly remains open. Our staff have been separated (distanced), with some staff working remotely from their homes. Our usual means of communication are operating as normal. Response times may be just a little slower than usual as we use mobile phones. All our staff have access to their emails and our reception phone is operating as normal. #stayathome #workingfromhome #businessasusual #staywell #covid19 #coronoavirus #realestateau #manlylawyer #conveyancing #flatfeeconveyancing #agency #courtappearance #homeoffice #defencelawyer #businessasusual
