23.01.2022 Dear Valued Patients, During this unprecedented COVID 19 event our number one concern is for the safety and wellbeing of you, our valued patients and staff. We ALWAYS have very strict infection control and sterilisation procedures in place. However, given the current health climate, we are now implementing additional precautionary measures to provide additional protection for our valued patients and staff. If you have a regular dentist, and it is a good idea to have one since it means your teeth will get the consistent care they need, you should be seeing them more often than you probably are, with one survey revealing that 65% of Australians have not seen a dentist in the last two years. Yup, thats right two whole years. Sure, thats extra time for catching on Game of Thrones but is it good for your teeth, and the health of your whole mouth? Not really. You should really be seeing your dentist every 6 to 12 months or as needed to keep on top of your dental health.

17.01.2022 Eat and drink well We all love junk food, but alas, it does not love us back. In fact, not only does it make fitting into those jeans you love a struggle, but its not good for our mouth at all. Youre much better drinking water, limiting sugar intake (watch out for hidden sugars in drinks and foods), avoid snacking between meals, instead sticking to three meals a day and concentrating on the good stuff like vegetables and dairy products. Of course, before you make any major dietary changes, first check with a healthcare professional.

14.01.2022 Manly Village Dental would like to welcome Dr Renee Brennan to our practice. Renee grew up in Brisbane and qualified as a dentist from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2014. Renee is particularly interested in preventative and restorative dentistry and loves being able to educate and empower her patients so they can take control of their oral health. Prior to her dental career, Renee was a registered nurse and therefore has a very gentle approach to dentistry, and sh...e loves chatting and getting to know her patients. When not at work Renee can be found running around after her 2 busy toddlers. She also enjoys going to Brisbane Lions games, watching cricket and trying out new yummy recipes for her family. 12.01.2022 | Getting back to business | We are very excited to confirm that as of next Monday, Dentistry is moving back to Level 2 restrictions. Weve remained open throughout the past few weeks looking after patients experiencing dental emergencies, but with this shift to Level 2 comes a few important changes here at Manly Village Dental Surgery We can re-commence dental examinations/check-ups, and many (though certainly not all) treatments that were previously on hold can now be com...pleted We will be open from Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, and will be increasing our hours to late nights and Saturdays as further restrictions are eased. We will of course continue to take very strict precautions at our practices, making sure that we do everything we can to protect the health of our patients, our staff and the community. Precautions includes: Careful patient pre-screening to ensure any at-risk patients do not attend the practice Increased sanitation processes Increased gaps between patients to allow for additional cleaning and to minimise the number of people in the practice at any time Additional space between chairs in the waiting rooms In the next week, our wonderful Front Office team will be in touch with patients who werent able to come in during Level 3 restrictions, but who may be able to visit us again soon. 05.01.2022 Flossing Flossing (or using an interdental brush) once a day is important because it removes plaque from between your teeth which goes a long way in helping to prevent gum disease, tooth decay and halitosis ("bad breath"). Its not something that should be rushed either. Take your time, using a gentle side-to-side motion with about 45cm wound around your middle fingers and thumb. If youre not sure about the right technique, have a chat to your dentist who can show you all the right flossing moves.
