25.01.2022 Manly and Harbord ward activity on fire!
25.01.2022 If you need assistance in this wild and wet weather please let me know. - Bishop Sengchanh.
23.01.2022 Welcome home Benjamin Biddle! Best home coming present is going out home teaching (here with junior comp Owen) followed by a quick burger at Originals!
22.01.2022 Hi all, Its been a busy period. I sometimes wonder if I have to check my hair to see if its turning grey, or better still if I am losing it at a faster rate?! Bro. Tongia, member of the High Priest Group passed away and his funeral was held on Friday. I will always remember Bro. Tongia as a humble, faithful, family and gospel loving man. He never complained about anything when it came to serving in the Church. When I spoke at his funeral service I referred to him as a ver...y rich man. Rich because his greatest treasures are his children and grandchildren. We will miss him; but know that now hes serving on the other side of the veil, along side Bro. Mana, Bro. Stevie, Bro. Vasar and co. I recently had the honour to marry Stephen and Lesiele (Bro. and Sis Hailames daughter). Though she has not been active for a long time and Stephen is not a member, they gave due respect to her parents, flew back here from Ireland and married under a Bishop. As I sat there wondering what words to say an overwhelming feeling of love for Bro. and Sister Hailame overcame me. For a small moment I felt what they felt and what they wanted deep in their hearts as parents. That their children and grandchildren receive the full blessings of the restored gospel. We love our children unconditionally and never give up on them. I believe as the Hailames and our family are related by marriage....this makes Bro. James Brown and I "cousins in-law" - which means free rights to raid each others fridge? :) Today at Church Bro. Colin Smith received the Aaronic Priesthood and was ordained to the Office of Priest. Bro. Smith was recently baptised and serves wonderfully as the Ward Usher. And lastly Stake President Danny Hamilton has received a call to serve as an Area Seventy. Wowsers! This is so amazing and my heart has been full of joy all day. To have one from our ward serve in such capacity is significant and a blessing to each of us. Given this change, there might be a few changes in the Stake and Ward, including a new Bishop? What the! Celebrate good times, cmon! :) Let me finish this ward update - When Nat and I married, at our reception we asked two of the most important spiritual men in our lives to speak for us. I asked Elder Johnny Leota (at that time my Stake President); and Nat asked Elder Danny Hamilton (at that time her Bishop). Now both these brethren serve as an Area Seventy. So I know God has been watching over me and Nat ever since and before; and he loves us and our family. And if He watches over us, I know He is watching over you and loves your family very much. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. pic (Bro. Tongia and grandchilren, Hailame growing family, and I stalked Sister Hamiltons FB Page to get a pic)
21.01.2022 Baptisms (Sydney Temple); including a few interesting names such as Ronald McDonald and Mr T. The muscle power of Frank, Eni and Eddie saw us get through over 100 names.

18.01.2022 Congrats to lovebirds Paul and Juliet on their wedding on Saturday (26 August 2017). Perfect wedding. Simple ceremony, wonderful reception (cannot beat an "all you can eat" feed). My favourite quote at wedding speeches from Toa (Juliets sister) - "now you dont have to hide your dating anymore!". haha.
18.01.2022 Have the full-time missionaries over for a feed. You will be blessed.
16.01.2022 Great Easter weekend with Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, wonderful sacrament speakers amd Linger Longer after church.

12.01.2022 Our Manly Ward Halloween Trunk or Treat Activity with beautiful food been provided last Saturday. A great day of fun and enjoyment for all of the members, especially the kids.
12.01.2022 Pic taken a short while ago when we honoured the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood by sharing our testimonies and spiritual thoughts.
11.01.2022 Excited to go to the chapel this morning for General Conference. It's always a handful with young kids and there's the temptation to watch it at home....but firstly we will miss out on the fellowship with the saints. We now pack a picnic lunch and laze on the lawn with other families including Bishop Pukeroa (of Harbord ward) and family. It's an awesome window for our respective families to stay close. Secondly going to Church hopefully impresses upon the minds of our childr...en that it's an enjoyable blessing that many other people in world do not have due to war, famine, restrictive Governments, distance, cost, illness, inury, etc. Hope to see you all there! Bishop Sengchanh Sessions: 10-12; 2-4pm (Pic: of Taufa family, photo taken a short while back - baby blessing no.6! )

08.01.2022 Awesome Stake Primary Easter Activity!!
08.01.2022 Stake Young Men Camp - 6-8 October 2016, venue Baden Powell Scout Centre, Pennant Hills. Had a good time at camp with the young men of the Stake. Was good to have all our young men in attendance (incl. Orhor, who isnt a member yet). First day involved camp site construction, splits into districts; get-to-know you games (basically "bull rush"); catapult wars (45mins of building, 2mins of action), zip-lining (10secs of action), dinner (sausages of course) and a devotional (k...ey speaker was President Wolfgramm, First Counselor, Harbour Stake Presidency). Milo and marshmellows over bonfire were followed by deep night conversations to the beat a South Harbour DJ! Yes music played all night long to the early morning. Day 2: Morning exercises, scripture study, then an epic hike to the middle of nowhere, back in time for a sandwich and a piece of fruit lunch. Afternoon included fun activities including missionary prep; catapult wars, zip-lining. After a curry/stir-fry dinner we watched the Priesthood Session of the October General Conference. A big test for the young men to keep their eye lids opened given the long day in hot weather. Once again there was a bit of touch footy and mashmellows over a bonfire. Conversations continued deep into the night. IN FACT.....many a young men were found at 12:30am...scurrying like mice through the Camp Hall food cupboards and fridges!!! They found bread and cheese to nimble on. The cupboards were then sealed shut lest there be no food remaining for the rest of the camp. Day 3: Morning only - Breakfast (baked beans, eggs and spaghetti - couldnt get more ummmm.....whats the word I am looking for...."tasty" or is it "testy" ? There was a testimony meeting (was great to listen to them). President Wolfgramm finished by inviting and encouraging the young men to be "GET INVOLVED" because when we get involved, we feel the Spirit. We left the camp site around 10am. Sister Sengchanh and I have been to a number of Stake Young Women Camps over the years; and this was my first Stake Young Men Camp. It certainly is a different experience! No frills would be the best way to describe it. Every time we decide to volunteer to be a part of a Stake Activity, I do so with some reluctance. But every time I find myself "involved" - it feels so super good. While at the camp site, I couldnt think of another place that the Lord would have me be. I am so glad I took time off my work to participate and serve. I am especially thankful for our Stake and Ward Leaders who devote so much of their time and talent. The Church is true; and His work will roll on forward!!
06.01.2022 Beautiful Sabbath day for General Conference; lunch break between sessions. #feelslikewearethere
