23.01.2022 Hi all. Some important dates for the diary... KING & QUEEN OF THE TRACK: 29/02 (this weekend). Come along and cheer our fastest 100m stars. MULTI EVENT: 07/03 rescheduled due to wet weather. ... PRESENTATION DAY: Sunday 29/03 from 4pm. Due to the Coronavirus impacting supply of trophies we have had to move the date this year. It does mean we can offer an extra day of competition and also acknowledge and celebrate our State Athletes who are competing on 14/15 March. Hope to see you all across these days as we farewell the 2019/20 season...

23.01.2022 And that's a wrap for State Combined Events Carnival here in Tamworth. 2 long and hot days really tested the athletes (and cheer squads) but it was awesome and our kids really delivered. It was awesome to see a heap of PB's in tough conditions. Overall placing as below; U7B: Harley Ehnbom - 12th... U9B: Ludvig Persson - 3rd U9B: Taten Rogers - 5th U11G: Sofia Ehnbom - 14th U12G: Grace Townsend - 3rd U13B: Orlando Grinsbergs - 11th U15G: Kelsey Smit - 5th CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL! Next year's event will be in Wollongong so with it being closer to home, we are hoping for a bigger team in 2021!!

22.01.2022 Hi all. As we get set for another Wednesday training session please remember that due to the young age of our athletes this is NOT a drop and run event. We would appreciate it if you could remain with the group and keep an eye on your child. I am sure our coaches would love a hand also if you feel up to it!

22.01.2022 Today's competition is ON...but we're monitoring the weather and things may change. There may be delays as we won't commence or re-commence events until 30 minutes of no thunder. Stay tuned for updates.

22.01.2022 Hi all A reminder about correct spikes to be worn at the track. The Academy has mandated that all athletes wearing spikes use the Christmas Tree style and not the Pyramid style. Christmas Tree spikes are readily available online and at selected stores. WE ALSO SELL THEM AT THE TRACK so if it's easier, drop into the computer/uniform room and we can sort you out.

21.01.2022 REGISTRATION UPDATE LANSW has advised that Registrations are postponed until 15th August at this stage. This is to allow all Centres to complete and submit their Covid Safe Plans for review and approval.... As with everything right now, this is subject to change. We will keep you posted.

20.01.2022 What a great couple of weeks of competition so far with 3 centre records broken!! Friday 11/09 ELIZABETH MCMILLEN in the U17G 1500m Walk with a new record time of 6:45.53 beating a 9 yr old record of 6:50.53 Friday 18/09 MIA GUILLERGAN in the U12G 1500m with a new record of 4:57.45 beat a 19 yr old record of 4:59.50... Note: PIP QUARRELL (2nd place) also broke the old record with 4:58.00 Saturday 19/09 LUDVIG PERSSON in the U10B Shot Put with a new record of 11.71m beating a 40 yr old record of 11:48m Well done to all for great results and breaking some VERY old records!!!

18.01.2022 Hi all. It has been brought to our attention that MWLAC isn't currently on the LANSW list of approved Centres. Please note that we are absolutely approved and it's simply a case of the LANSW website not being updated as of yet. Rest assured you can go ahead and register for the 2020/21 season.

15.01.2022 Dear Members, Please see our Notice of Annual General meeting to be held on 24 May 2020 at 4pm and which this year will be held by a virtual meeting using Zoom. Details for logging into the meeting will be shared closer to the date. We invite any parent who has an interest in joining the committee or being a friend of the committee for the upcoming season to contact the secretary [email protected]... We also wish to apologise if you have not yet received your parent duty refund. There has been a prolonged delay in getting cheque books from our bank in these strange times and with some 400 cheques to be completed, social distancing is also proving a challenge for us. Please be assured that we are doing as much as we possible can to get this money returned to those entitled to a refund of their deposit from last season. Regards Your Committee

With State Champs wrapping up the 2019/20 season this weekend, we wanted to remind you of our Presentation Day date which will be SUNDAY 29TH MARCH at the track. We are finalising the schedule of events at tonight's committee meeting but proposed start time is 3:30pm with a 7pm close (official events should end by 6pm however).... We really hope you can make it along and will update you all via here and email this week with the event details.

11.01.2022 We're loving seeing the track come back to life after a tough year for all. Your committee are working hard to define how the 2020/21 season looks but rest assured there will be one and it will be AWESOME!

11.01.2022 The MWLAC team are set up and ready to compete here at the State Combined Event Carnival. Smaller than usual team this year but everyone is pumped to jump, throw and run all weekend!

11.01.2022 UPDATE RE. PRESENTATION DAY: Sadly, the MWLAC Presentation Day will not go ahead on March 29, as had been planned. Given the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the event will be postponed at this stage.... The committee will continue to assess the situation as it develops and a decision on if and when the event will go ahead, or alternate arrangements, will be advised at a later date. We sincerely hope to get the opportunity to celebrate the 2019/20 performances of our athletes and thank you for your support throughout the season.

10.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mal Jaye, one of our treasured Life Members, on the 7th March. Mal was also a former President of our Centre and North East Met Zone Coordinator. A service will be held today at @ 1:00pm at the Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens & Crematorium in the South Chapel if anyone wishes to attend.... We want to pass on our deepest condolences to Mal's family and friends at this sad time. MWLAC Committee.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone, We recognise that this is a busy time for us all, so thank you to those Parents/Carers who have singed up for duties so far. We are a Centre that runs on volunteers and we can't do it without you. As of now, tomorrow (Sat 19th) is VERY light on for helpers and we may not be able to run events together (eg circular track and front/back track), or at all (eg hurdles). This will be disappointing for the athletes as they will either be very delayed or miss out entire...ly. If you are a "ready reserve" we WILL NEED YOUR HELP tomorrow. If you have a child attending tomorrow (U7-10) and have not done so already, can you please help the Centre run by signing up for a duty? Thank you in advance for your support.

08.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE Hi all. Due to heavy rain overnight and more flooding at the track, today's meet has to be cancelled.

05.01.2022 Hi All, The State Representative Jackets, Backpacks and Sports Bags have arrived. They will be available for collection from the track on Saturday 7th March until 8:30am. The parent duty roster will go live on Sunday 8th March @ 8:00pm. ... In order for your child to be eligible to compete at the State Championships you must ensure you have selected the requested number of duties prior to 8:00pm on Wednesday 11th March.

05.01.2022 Families of U9-U12 athletes should have all received (several) emails regarding submitting preferences for the State Qualifying carnival in February. Please search your emails (including junk/spam!) and respond ASAP, even if your athlete does not want to be considered. All responses are due by 8pm TONIGHT- Thursday 17th December.

04.01.2022 Hi everyone. We've had a lot of queries recently around whether you can still register kids after the season has started. The short answer is YES!! Unlike many other sports (and even some LA's centres), we are not required to cap our numbers at this stage and look forward to welcoming as many athletes to MWLAC as possible. We also understand many people might be waiting for winter sports to finish so we are keeping registration open so they can jump on and sign up when they are ready. Please let anyone know who may think rego's are closed.

03.01.2022 This Saturday, 19th Dec, is the final week of competition for 2020. A special visitor will be in attendance delivering some goodies around the track!!

It was so good to see so many new and familiar faces after a less than awesome year... Collection day #2 is next Sunday.... 3pm - 5pm at Energize Gym in Belrose for WAKEHURST. 2pm - 4pm at the track for all others...

02.01.2022 A great first day at The State Combined Events Carnival for the team. Plenty of PB's so far so let's see how the overall points stack up after tomorrow!
