24.01.2022 Maritime will be collecting expired marine flares in three rounds from the 8th - 17th Jan at 46 locations along the NSW coast from Tweed Heads to Eden. Most fla...res have a use-by date of three years and they must be replaced before the expiry date. Flares contain explosive matter which makes safe and legal disposal difficult. This program provides an opportunity to safely dispose of out of date flares. For a full list of collection centres visit: https://bddy.me/387NVDi

Sailsys is modern software that integrates most aspects of running races at a yacht club, from entry, through compliance documents to running races and publishing results. The software is under active development, so while already good, its continuing to get better. You can link to sailsys from the racing pages of the club site: http://myc.org.au If FB has over compressed the video for you, the YT version will soon be available in HD: https://youtu.be/tJ92Wi3kdnM

02.01.2022 What a cracker of a day for race 6 of the Summer Series - Course 2 took us round Shark and Clark, into Middle Harbour Rocky and Edwards and then finish on the triangles. The harbour looked busier than the "after Sydney-Hobart" raft ups in all the bays, including our finish line. Thanks to Team Khaleesi for Race Committee duties and the great images taken by Peter Grayson from Robbie R - more here https://photos.app.goo.gl/crsspL3ivwvt8bVo6. Provisional results here : https://app.sailsys.com.au/club/23/results/series/582/races

02.01.2022 OMG THE HANDICAPS!!!!! The handicaps for the Summer Series and Club Championships have now been entered into the Sailsys software for this MYC season. Before you have a heart attack at how savage your handicap is, please be aware that all our handicaps have been scaled. The value is based on the number crunching that Graham Radford performed on last season results, but all the handicaps have been changed so that the fleet average, median and spread match the handicaps recomm...ended by Sailsys. This will mean that our handicaps are exchangeable with other clubs that use Sailsys. But it also means that the number you see might be a bit bigger than the numbers youve been used to seeing. For example, poor little Esprit has changed from a 0.98 to a 1.01 boat!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!! Well no, the size of the number is not important, only how it relates to the numbers assigned to other boats. Start times for the Summer Series are coming soon... but waiting for a few more compliance documents from some boats

01.01.2022 Photos from Summer Series Race 6. Thanks to the Khaleesi1D35 for picking the perfect course and the pictures. Well done to 1st junior, 2nd Pinta ll and 3rd Mondo.

01.01.2022 Summer Series Race 1 ... what a sparkly day for our first race of the season, albeit a non point score due to COVID-9 restrictions. New boats (Kia Kaha) and new gear (Rattys new secret weapon) were the order of the day. Course 4 - a sight seeing course around (possibly) all the marks of the harbour. Junior was out of the blocks and running ... it took a while for San Toy to catch up and ultimately overtake, with new boat to the club, Kia Kaha, nipping at San Toys heels.... Although a new boat to Andrew and Julian, these 2 experienced ex owners of Okavango Delta know their stuff - just wait until they include the spinnaker in their racing wardrobe. San Toy, first across the line followed by Kia Kaha a minute and a bit behind. But first across the line doesnt count in this contest ... a well deserved first for Kia Kaha on handicap, with San Toy a minute and a bit behind and just 4 seconds behind in third place was Junior. Congratulations to our new handicapper GregW. Some images from the day here https://photos.app.goo.gl/2mx6FTc61jpaA3zu5. If you took any good pics on the course today, send them to [email protected] and Maz will add them to the album. Additional pics by Ian Saunders and Colin Cameron.

01.01.2022 Want to take a tour of the Harbour? Enter here https://app.sailsys.com.au/club/23/entry/series/583/pricing. Our first Marathon for the season is Sunday, 29th November. Two divisions, allocated start time, PHS handicap. If are already entered in the Club Champs or the Summer Series, your entry is free... BUT ... you still need to enter so that details are registered on SailSys - Jan's not going to do it for you! For our twilight and casual racers a series or casual entry fee will get you to the start line.
