I hope to see you there! p.s those in other states are welcome too :)

24.01.2022 Last week Gordon Prescott and Barry Burdett presented the inaugural Joan Kreiser Award for the top three students who shared their vision of Mannum when they reach 40 years of age. Congratulations to Amber Richards (1st) Joseph Ward (2nd) and Charlie Deramore-Denver (3rd)- congratulations to these students and thankyou to our Mannum Lions.

24.01.2022 No matter your child’s age, preparing them for a COVID-19 test will help make the experience a little easier for them. . Here are a few tips on how to prepare ...your child: Paint a picture for them: describe in age appropriate detail what they can expect before you head out. This should include where they will go, who will be there, what they will see and how long it will take. Let them know that friendly staff will be wearing masks, caps, gowns and gloves to protect themselves and others from getting sick. Keep them distracted during the wait with their favourite toy, books, music, or a movie/TV show on your phone or tablet. Explain that they’ll put a little stick with a soft end in their nose and mouth, and that it won’t hurt but might feel funny. Plan a fun ‘reward’ that they will get at home after the test (your child will need to self-isolate until they’ve received a negative test result and their symptoms have resolved). . If your child doesn’t like being touched or gets scared in clinical settings, please let the staff know and they’ll work out a way to keep your child feel calm and comforted. See more

20.01.2022 National Families Week Top Ten Tip 5. Get to know your community by participating in local events - now and throughout the year! More https://nfw.org.au/

18.01.2022 School Photos are on Thursday 3rd June 2021 Each student must have their own envelope clearly marked on the day. Students must bring their envelope regardless of if they are ordering or not. You may pay for more than one child in one envelope, but they must carry their own envelope. Please enclose correct money as no change is given. Cash, cheques, credit card and money orders accepted. Please make sure envelopes are sealed shut to prevent any lost money.... Please do not include any written messages in the payment envelopes. They will not be opened on the day and messages will be missed. Family envelopes and credit card slips are available from the Front Office. Please let students know if they are having a family photo so it is not a surprise on the day. In order to make it easier for older brothers and sisters to find their younger family members, please discuss at home where they are most likely to be after lunch on the day. All students must wear their school uniform for school photos. We will have a supply of uniforms to use for those who do not have them on the day. If your child will be absent on this day we have a catch up session scheduled for later in the term in the staff room, however they will miss out on their class group photo. Why not give ONLINE ORDERING a go! It’s quick and easy. Look at your child’s envelope for more details.

15.01.2022 HOUSE CUP UPDATE With only one more token count left this term, Baseby has taken a commanding lead in the Term 3 competition. Results from the tug-of-war activity set Baseby well ahead of the other two teams as they streaked ahead. The overall annual cup is still up for grabs with only 200 points between first and second place across the whole year. Keep those tokens rolling in!

14.01.2022 Dear Families The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result our school will be open and operating as normal. Please note: We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. OSHC will operate as usual. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a... result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our site. Wherever possible, please drop and collect your child at the gate and maintain the appropriate physical distance from other adults. More information on excursions, events and sporting activities, and use of masks will be available soon. Please be patient while we work through the intricacies of what has happened and what will occur in the next three weeks. Please remind students to return any devices that were loaned out on Wednesday afternoon and to bring their hats. Junior School swimming lessons will go ahead. Thank you very much for your support over the last couple of days. We look forward to having your child back at school on Monday. Kind regards, Kylie

11.01.2022 National Families Week was celebrated last Friday with a free BBQ in the Remembrance Garden for all students and staff. Students played Connect 4, giant chess, mini pool, table soccer, made origami, completed a jig-saw puzzle, danced and mingled in the beautiful sunshine. HUGE thanks to the Mannum Lions club for so efficiently cooking 400 serves on the BBQ. It was very much appreciated. Congratulations to the students who won a prize pack, including several books, in the Mid... Murray Family Connections colouring competition. Unfortunately, our planned visit from Port Power was postponed due to a serious injury to the key speaker (shoulder dislocation!) who faced off against the AFL ruckman in a training session and came off second best! :)
