Over the next week we would love to see you wearing your mask as you go about your day; whether it be on the farm, on your daily walk or heading out to the shops. To get involved, simply snap a photo of yourself or others wearing their mask and either tag #SnapshotRuralVic or upload it to our #SnapshotRuralVic Community Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/324171315285288/. 19.01.2022 I'm sure many of us can relate to this!

19.01.2022 Our delicious dairy products would not be possible without our valued South Australian farmers, who work hard every day to produce the creamy, 100% certified bio-dynamic milk we know and love!

18.01.2022 Farewell to a great Australian horseman.

18.01.2022 Still shearing at 86! Colin 'Tyke' 'Pa' McGillivray from Gunbower, Victoria, is true blue. According to his daughter-in-law Sue, not only can he shear with th...e best of them and has never complained of a bad back, but he helps tend to his ailing wife and delivers home-grown veggies to his family (often with leg of lamb, chops or liver thrown in!). His sheep yards are made of anything he could find for free, including wooden pallets, old gates and wire. He even once won an award for having the worst sheep yards in the country! Sue says, "He is a character like no other and deserves some recognition for his contribution to the shearing world." We agree! Good on you, Colin. : Susan Maree McGillivray

15.01.2022 WARWICK RODEO & GOLD CUP CAMPDRAFT 2020 After extensive consultations with State and Local governments, stakeholders and public health authorities the Warwick... Show and Rodeo Society have made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft. With the ever changing climate surrounding Covid-19 the safety of our volunteers, competitors, patrons and the larger community were at the forefront of our decision making process. The complex nature of our event being seven days and the vast space of our venue made the logistical implementation of the Covid Plan unattainable. We understand that not only will the cancellation have a massive economic effect on our local community but that our event for many rural and regional competitors has been a reprieve from a tough few years battling through drought, fire and now Covid. In the coming months we will be working closely with our governing bodies to help keep our sports alive to keep our trusty team of volunteers engaged and to lift the community spirit. Please know this decision wasnt made lightly, even when the equine flu hit in 2007 we still bucked our bulls, the last time on our records we had to cancel was in 1965 due to extreme drought and before that was World War II. We aim to be back in 2021 October 25th-31st bigger and better than ever. See more

13.01.2022 Now that is some fleece!

13.01.2022 Hard decision but we understand why.

13.01.2022 Following our committee meeting last night it was decided to cancel the 2020 Mansfield Show. Here is a statement from our President. June 24, 2020 The Mansfield Agricultural & Pastoral executive committee wishes to advise all its members, sponsors, supporters, competitors, and patrons that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Mansfield Show on November 21 due to the ongoing uncertainty with the Coronavirus situation.... This was not an easy decision to make and the committee discussed the various implications if we were to proceed with our normal show day. Considering the Covid-19 pandemic and the many restrictions and requirements needed to be followed; the committee felt this put an unfair burden on those involved in the running of the 2020 show. Our number one priority is the health and safety of everyone including members, volunteers, community patrons, traders, exhibitors, and competitors. As many people will be aware, the Mansfield district suffered from the huge economic impact of the January bushfires and now the COVID-19 Pandemic has made it a difficult time for many local businesses. The committee agreed that we could not expect sponsorship during such tough times. A big thank you to all our sponsors who continue to support the Mansfield Show year in, year out. We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2021. On behalf of the Mansfield Agricultural & Pastoral Society I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for their hard work leading up to this decision, the community, sponsors, competitors and exhibitors for your ongoing support and the volunteers who help out every year. Although there will not be a show this year we are exploring some ideas for some other activities which will be promoted via our Facebook page. While we are disappointed to cancel the show this year after such a successful event in 2019 we hope you understand why we made this difficult decision. As always we say thank you for your ongoing support. Looking forward to a bigger and brighter Mansfield Show in 2021. Your faithfully, Edwin Harris President. See more
