25.01.2022 We love that we are able to provide career and training opportunities for our young people in Mansfield. And that so many go off and get degrees and life experience in the wider world and come back. Either way it's a terrific win-win. And Operation Gamechanger - our expansion project at the farm, will provide even more job and training opportunities, not to mention life changing services for more families living with autism. Feeling proud.

17.01.2022 We love our horses on the farm #operationgamechanger
17.01.2022 tramps and sunny days make for sensational smiles
16.01.2022 Chilli is looking to retire as a ride horse and would rather just hang with the kids at the farm, so we're looking for another unicorn. Quiet temperament an absolute must and happy to be led from another horse. No spook or vices. Sound for saddle with years of pretty easy work life left. No more than a trot required. Ideally a galloway size - not too big, not too little. Breed and color doesn't matter. A wonderful forever home. If you have a horse that is wasting in your paddock, that you think could fit the bill and that you're happy to rehome, please contact us on 5775 2876 to get in touch with Pete Watts - our Equine Facilitated Learning Coordinator and generally top bloke. These horses are true gems and are doing such a fantastic job with us supporting our families and students living with autism. Thanks in advance
16.01.2022 Exploring different foods. Healthy eating is a foundation principle at Mansfield Autism.
16.01.2022 Terrific conversation and visit today with Senator Bridget McKenzie about supporting autistic children and their families, and the demand driven need for our expansion project on our farm, dubbed Operation Gamechanger. Thanks for the advice and support.
16.01.2022 Chilli came up to ask R U OK ? while I was sitting in the grass at the farm. Its a special place our future home. #operationgamechanger
16.01.2022 Meet Caitlin - she's first in a series of profiles featuring some of our team of 120! At only 17, Caitlins one of our terrific team members and works as a trainee teachers aide, with day school and therapeutic placement students. Shes a local Mansfield girl and is completing her Cert III in Individual Support. And shes a terrific photographer a lot of the special photos weve featured on our FB and Insta are Caitlins. In her words: The best thing about working at MA...SS is spending time with the children in such a rewarding job and always having supportive people around you. Things dont always go to plan, so Ive had to learn strategies to help myself and the client and adapt, as every child is unique in their own special ways. I hope to further my studies on autism and continue to work with these children. Maybe even lead into teaching! When Im not at work or studying, I enjoy getting out and exploring new places and spending time with people I lovehowever I do spend a lot of time thinking about clients and new learning opportunities. Thanks Caitlin - we love your attitude and enthusiasm and so do the kids

12.01.2022 Meet Tom Sheahan, who at 21 has worked with us for nearly 3 years, after completing Year 12 at Mansfield Secondary College. He mostly works with our permanent residential students and sometimes with our therapeutic placement students. "I personally feel the best thing about working at MASS is the feeling of fulfillment, as well as the close bonds made with staff and students. There are many challenges and I focus on finding what best suits each student and keeping positive. ...I really admire the personal touch MASS has with every student, which comes from working together towards the same goal." Tom said he now has a more thorough understanding of autism and its effect on people living with it, as well as the effect it has on those close to them. Currently unsure about future career plans, Tom has completed his Certificate 4 in Disability and is currently studying youth and family intervention, with the help of MASS and through GOTAFE. Tom was born and raised in Mansfield, other than for the 3 years when the family ran a holiday park on the NSW/QLD border. In his own time Tom likes to relax and catch up with friends and family. Tom's a great member of the team!
11.01.2022 We’re walking to the top of Australia! Collectively that is. The MASS staff walking challenge has started, with teams formed to log the most steps. Great for fitness, morale and connectivity across our staff of 120 - here’s a super pic from Kate, who walked to the top of the Paps. Top effort. Check out how full Lake Eildon is looking.

10.01.2022 Thanks for the wonderful support across print, online and social The Age - the smile speaks volumes
10.01.2022 Ribbon cutting today to open Res 4 - our latest addition to our building family. We're under huge pressure for our residential and placement services but have no room left. Res 4 is a short term fix and now another few students will benefit from our therapeutic term residence school and there'll also be additional respite capacity in school holidays. Our masterplan is to have a purpose built residence out at the farm with additional capacity to complement a new world's best practice school. It's subject to funding and we're working hard on that front. In the interim, Res 4 purchased recently and with only minor modifications, is set to go for this term. We know early intervention is critical and our wrap around model of care transforms lives. Look at those smiles on our team..

Great team building and personal health and well being outcomes. And the photos that were shared of people walking, showing spectacular views, with 2 legged and 4 legged family, were simply awesome. And we got a fitbit. Great place to work!

Stay tuned as were also planning some working bees as weve had wonderful offers of help.
03.01.2022 A HUGE thank you to the Dyson Bequest who have supported MASS in its service delivery for years. The Dyson Bequest has again made a substantial donation that will assist us to develop our farm. A recent visit by the Dyson Bequest advisors, who work tirelessly to bring life to the benefactors' wishes, elicited the beautiful words below: "I loved our visit out to The Farm and am blown away by how perfect it all is for what MASS can expand into. Just SO good, and so beautiful that energy out there." We couldn't agree more!
