18.01.2022 HAPPY 11TH MARKET-VERSARY TO US! We're really excited to be celebrating 11 years of the Mansfield Farmer's market on Saturday - in a year that has been like no other It's 'business as unusual' again at the market and we welcome our Regional Victorian neighbours back to the area.... We're still running with strict COVID guidelines and ask you to help us out by maintaining physical distancing, not touching produce until you are ready to purchase, wearing your mask and using card for payment where possible. Hot food and coffee WILL be available to purchase however we ask that you leave the market site to consume. Remember - we are for food & plant shopping and not socialising. Boonderoo Farm Bakery - our only stallholder who has been at EVERY one of our 121 markets. Thank-you Thomas & Gabi for your support!

13.01.2022 FRESH BREAD Baked today In your basket tomorrow

13.01.2022 WEEKEND / SCHOOL HOLIDAY TASK With the move to outdoor dining for our local eateries - and the way that we will be catching up with friends this Summer - we need to act NOW to remove as many wasp queens as we can. It's easy - and if we all contribute it makes for a better place to be! Thanks to local Keith Padbury for his easy to follow instructions....... No queens no nest. No nest, no wasps. If you live close to Fords creek the rest of the town will appreciate your effort. Bait: 1:1 sugar water (100 grams sugar dissolved in 100ml water hot water). 1kg sugar dissolved in 1 ltre water. Scale up or down to your requirements. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Add 1 tsp Brewers yeast (available from every supermarket) to 1 litre of sugar water. Use a fruit juice / milk bottle and hang it from a tree. Make sure that it is up high enough to stop animals from getting in An important point is to keep ants from getting in. You can spray the branch you have the trap tied to with surface spray or you can sit the trap in a pot plant saucer of water. Share if you wish but stick to the bait recipe. Other baits may be toxic to or have unintended consequences.

03.01.2022 Market update - please read whole post! This weekend Sprocket’s will still be attending all of our markets, but we are going to have to leave our young fluffy c...hicks at home - it’s going to be too cold for them to be away from their heaters and their well-being always comes first! If you had planned on collecting some of these young ladies, please send us a message and we’ll bring some along for you, but we won’t have any on general display. We WILL have our point of lay pullets though (they don’t mind the cold so much) and there will be plenty available! See more
