25.01.2022 I'm happy to advise that my phone issues have been sorted.
23.01.2022 Poor snake spent the day trapped in this bird netting. Fortunately, he wasn't in the sun, else he would be dead. Bird netting is a trap for snakes and a cruel way to perish.
22.01.2022 Here's a Tiger Snake caught in netting. Tricky job cutting it out without getting bitten. Just when I thought the season was finished....
20.01.2022 Just a heads up if you use the Mansfield Community and Business Directory, this number is for Dave who used to live in Swanpool. He's been in Katherine for 3 years now..... Instead, use 0459 55 55 34.
17.01.2022 Hi! If you're staying at home and sharing your space with a reptile that you're not keen on, rest assured that I can and will come to your rescue. Naturally I will keep my distance from humans though.
17.01.2022 As the only snake catcher for the Mansfield district, it's important to let you know that as I work full time, I'm not always available during business hours, Mon to Fri. I am however contactable by phone. The exception to this rule would of course be if you had a snake in your house. Fortunately, for all concerned, this is rare. I will answer your call or get back to you promptly if I can't.
16.01.2022 Greetings. I got wind today of a rather terse FB post regarding the level of service I'm providing, so I thought it best to inform the general public of Mansfield the following: -I have a permanent part-time job in an area without mobile service. If you call me, the phone will divert to my home answering machine. If you don't leave a message, I won't know you've called. -Snake Catching is not a full-time gig. I certainly wish I was well off enough to not need an income from e...lsewhere but it's just not feasible. -If I'm unavailable and you desparately NEED a snake catcher, you can call Tim from Quickstrike on 0459 466 981. Tim is in Alexandra but he is the closest snake catcher aside from my goodself. Trusting this information is both useful and informative. Remember, snakes are more scared of you, than you are of them.
15.01.2022 First snake of this season caught......in bird netting. Luckily it wasn't in the sun. Beautiful metre long Brown snake, released back into the wild.
14.01.2022 This is a timely post given that it's the start of Spring. Snakes are on move again with the warmer weather.
12.01.2022 Some useful information here: https://farmers.org.au//nff-news/new-snakebite-advice-0811
10.01.2022 Retaining walls are a great place for snakes to live. There are often unseen hollows behind them. In this case, two eastern browns had made a home. Safely removed and relocated to an uninhabited area. Thanks to the owner Geoff for the photos.
09.01.2022 Lol. Had to share this.
09.01.2022 This is true of most snakes I've encountered. The only exception would be around 50% of the Tiger Snakes I've come across. Some have a tendency to flare up to scare you off and you would be wise to retreat. The message here is clear though. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. If only we could teach our pets to do that!
08.01.2022 An interesting afternoon.. Caught a very large Tiger Snake that was wrapped around an outboard motor of a boat on Lake Eildon! Timely reminder that snake season is well and truly underway and that Tiger Snakes can swim and climb!
08.01.2022 From a Brown Snake in a kitchen a couple of weeks ago to a Tiger Snake in the female toilets of Mansfield Country Resort. The indoor variety are certainly easier to catch!
08.01.2022 Well it is that time of year again. Stay safe and give our slithering friends space. Remember, they are just like any other animal: they're searching for food, searching for shelter and searching for a mate. If they get caught somewhere that they need my help, don't hesitate to call.
07.01.2022 Good evening! As we start making our way into the warmer months, so do we start to see our slithering friends too. This post is a heads up to let you know that I currently work 3 days per week in an area without mobile reception. If you need my services, please leave a message either on the phone or via FB and I will respond ASAP. Cheers, Trev..

04.01.2022 Stinking hot weather usually means snakes are nowhere to be seen. But it also means they're looking for shelter that is cool. This little guy made his way into a loungroom in Bonnie Doon in an effort to escape the heat. Remember to keep doors closed at this time of year.
03.01.2022 Normally snake calls are for the venomous variety.....
