22.01.2022 Warming up now, but sunny lovely weather. Had a brilliant trip to the reef last week on the new Calypso boat "Bubbles". The weather and crew were fabulous and visibility was the best we have ever experienced. Highly recommend

18.01.2022 We had a spectacular Easter with sunny beautiful weather. The highlight of our Easter break was a trip to Low Isles and snorkelling in the fringing lagoon. We highly recommend a visit to Low Isles to all our guests.

18.01.2022 We have had a busy January at Manta Ray thanks to our new listing on Airbnb. Some lovely guests from Czech Republic, France and Switzerland - it is lovely when the world comes to us!! Luckily the weather was good for most of our guests as our rainy season has started late. Current weather not so good with cyclone threatening tomorrow and we had a kind of mini cyclone this morning - don't want to see a full blown one!

14.01.2022 Just dodged another bullet as Cyclone Ita downgraded to a Category 2, from category 5, as it passed by. We lost power for 38 hours but apart from this only experienced leaf and twig litter in the garden, no damage to the house or residents. Now back to typical monsoonal weather, rain during the night and mainly sunny days. Thank goodness, or our friends Adri and Pieter who gifted us the generator, we still had fridges, light and coffee machine.

12.01.2022 Fernando is getting very good at catching the frogs. We may have to consider offering frogs legs on the menu!!!

09.01.2022 Fernando is out with fishing net catching green frogs who are barking so loud we have difficulty hearing the TV.

09.01.2022 For a while we considered rechristening Mantaray to the Lakes Estate. But really apart from one day of heavy monsoonal downpour, we have been lucky. Yes it has been a bit wet, but starting to clear now with intermittent sun, now for most of the day. We look forward to welcoming many more guests to Mantaray to enjoy our beautiful surrounds.

08.01.2022 We have had a busy year so far with many guests from all over the world. Many of these booked through Airbnb. This is a great site for guests and also hosts. We now have a cover for the pool which has raised the pool temperature quickly so guests can enjoy a swim year round. We have also put an aerial on the guestroom roof and new TVs in the rooms so guests who stay longer have entertainment in their room. Many of our guests have been great company and we just wish they would move in as neighbours or at least return to visit in the near future.
