24.01.2022 Manteena has a long history of building memorials in the National Capitalnotably the New Zealand Memorial, Australian Peacekeeping Memorial, Australian National Korean War Memorial and the Australian Service Nurses National Memorial (plus many more) along Anzac Parade. Our latest memorial is an upgrade to the Australian Merchant Navy Memorial which is located near the National Carillon on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. The works included the addition of a new walkway and extending the existing podium to make way for the new pre-cast panels along with the bronze coated commemorative plaques. Other works were new pavers and the replacement of the flagpole to improve the raising and lowering system to make it more accessible and secure.

The triple-storey space caters for a double residential living area- including master bedroom terrace, a grand open foyer, comfortable public space for Visa services, multiple kitchen and bathrooms and six, top-storey, generous office spaces. 09.01.2022 Manteena BUSINESS AS USUAL ----------------------------------------------- Until advised otherwise by the authorities, Manteena remains open, as we continue to build quality commercial, residential and security infrastructure projects for our clients. The health & safety of our staff (and families), clients, consultants, subcontractors, visitors and supply chain are now more than ever paramount.... We’ve implemented a number of changes to help minimise the spread of COVID-19. These include exercising best practice personal hygiene, extra cleaning regimes around the office and worksites, minimising face-to-face contact by running ‘on-line’ meetings, staggering lunch times on sites to limit the number of personnel in the lunch sheds at any one time, as well as adhering to the social distancing protocols. In addition, some staff are already working from home. We will continue to monitor the directives from federal and local governments and adjust our plans accordingly as the situation evolves. Please look after yourselves and others.

08.01.2022 Want some tips and tricks to looking great at 93? Our building's secret weapon is Meetu Sharma Saxena, conservation architect Lately, Meetu has been bravely a...scending the Senate chamber scaffolding to work on the 'render repair project'. Armed with a tiny hammer and John Smith Murdoch's original, hand-drawn plans from the early 1920s, Meetu investigates every tiny crack in the render, figuring out exactly why they've appeared. Meetu lightly taps on the wall, then stops to listen... a 'ringing' tone means the crack is superficial, a 'flat' tone means there are more significant repairs to be done. It's a process that Meetu (unsurprisingly) admits is 'tedious'! We're grateful for it, though - thanks to Meetu, the team at SQC Architecture, Manteena and our Capital Projects and Heritage teams, we'll be looking good at 94, 95, 96 and beyond. We'll be adding more #bts footage on our stories if you're interested - check it out before it disappears!
