22.01.2022 R9 contains a new 80/20 wool hemp heavy-drape canvas woven by the same mill responsible for our signature MT cloth. Piece-dyed the wool attracts the pigment while the hemp resists it, resulting in this textural colour. Available in mens SHIRT-1, CAP-1 and womens SHIRT-1, ALL-5. In store now.

21.01.2022 The new MAN-TLE R9 Gear Series has been designed in collaboration with Rikiya Matsumura [previously of PORTER] and manufactured in the same factories producing for Yoshida Kaban. Using our original compressed nylon, aluminium water-jet cut buckles and collaborative German fasteners, this 22L Snap Messenger borrows its shape from the British Royal Mail courier bag. Available now at our SHOP, ESHOP and stockists worldwide.

20.01.2022 Tomorrow we reintroduce R3 TSHIRT-1 and TSHIRT-2 : remade as zip cardigans in our workshop. This very rigid moss-stitch knit is made by the same husband-and-wife who knit our popular heavy weight waffle in Gifu, Japan. Available in Wattle and Black - in short sleeve and long - in-store from tomorrow and online next week.

19.01.2022 MAN-TLE by PERFORMANCE Part-2 launches in store this Friday night 5pm-7pm. Remaining items on ESHOP from 7pm [AWST]. Performance is the joint project of art-director Caitlin Talijancich and her husband Australian artist Benjamin Barretto. For the second time collaborating with MAN-TLE they have used their signature dying techniques to rework SHIRT-1 and CAP-1. All pieces are unique one-offs. 18.01.2022 R9 PARTS in a new temporary space at Lady White Co. [Los Angeles, USA].

17.01.2022 Today we are releasing the MAN-TLE Disk Tee in Black, alongside a full restock of White. Cut and sewn entirely in our Perth workshop, these tshirts feature a dry, high-twist cotton jersey knitted in Wakayama, Japan. They come with the logo either stamped on the chest, or inside the neck. 17.01.2022 MAN-TLE R9 continues our partnership with the same family-run cotton chambray mill we worked with since R1. Featured in our shirt, trousers, dresses and caps - this includes new colours in both our wax and wash fabrics. Arriving in stores soon.

15.01.2022 R9T2 Patch T-shirts came about as a way of demonstrating how our chambray ages, being a garment washed continuously after use. The yoke features the same cloth used for our shirts and pants while the body is made from a 100% cotton [Giza / Supima blend] jersey. In stores and online now.

12.01.2022 The MAN-TLE R9 Z1 sweaters are made in partnership with Tohoku Crotchet, a community initiative in the north-east of Japan, providing work and income to those effected by the 2011 earthquake & tsunami. The group of women now contains 60 members who have been taught how to knit from home, in a community where there livelihood was taken away. For this project we supplied a dense, stretchy, well-weighted British Wool slub-yarn in three colours. The shape is unisex and generous in proportions. 05.01.2022 MAN-TLE R9 Tohoku Hand-Crotchet Series in the shop this Thursday alongside other new R9 arrivals.

04.01.2022 Korean Nubi is a quilted cloth, sandwiching either a cotton or polyester insulation between two fine layers of woven sheeting. With varying wales available, Nubi can have up to 330 rows of quilting per meter of its width. Traditionally done by hand, these days it involves enormous diagonal-feeding quilting machines with up to 800 needles across. This factory we shot in Daegu last year produces our fabric - a new addition to the MAN-TLE winter ranges. Available in store now, and online this Friday.

02.01.2022 The first batch of our new MAN-TLE A4 Metal Box [E7] will be available in store from tomorrow and online Friday. Originally developed to transport swatches to our retailers, these are made from waterjet cut, press brake folded 0.6mm aluminium.
