21.01.2022 Today members attended a briefing with Sun Cable. Sun Cable CEO David Griffin presented the company’s vision for Australia to be a hub for regional renewable electricity, with a solar farm to be stationed just south-west of Elliott and distributed from the Top End. A Maverick-prefabricated solar panel factory is also proposed to be based in Middle Arm, Northern Territory. "We drive down prices, we actually bring new industries into the NT, and it drives economic growth that ...way." Construction is expected to start in late 2023 following FID, with solar energy to reach Darwin in 2026 and Singapore the following year. Chamber of Commerce NT
