18.01.2022 Isnt your product just bagged hay? Short answer, NO, our product is much more than just bagged lucerne hay. Haylage is partially fermented lucerne at a moisture level that is less than silage but more than hay.... The fermentation process, which is done safely in quality silage wrap to prevent any unwanted spoilage, allows the microbes, many found within the hindgut of the horse, to partially breakdown the extremely hard to digest structural carbohydrates found in all grasses and pastures. This dramatically increases the feeds digestibility from around 50% to as high as 90%. In fact, the best quality hay is only about 65% digested by horses. The result is greater digestion, more nutrients absorbed and able to be used by the horse, and an improvement in the animals gut health leading to an improvement in overall health. An interesting comparison o...f sugar content in two different hay types. There were assumptions made of course by the authors but for those who prefer visual representations instead of numbers I think these photos send a clear message. Oaten Hay first then pasture hay with their sugar content. If we added a photo of Manuka Haylage I estimate you would only see a half sugar packet (500g) sitting on top. Manuka Haylage is tested to only have 2.5% Non Structural Carbohydrates, ie the dangerous sugars. "Have to have haylage!"

08.01.2022 Manuka Haylage is premium lucerne forage conserved as a small brick silage for horses. 100% of the lucerne used to make Manuka Haylage is grown and cut from the fertile black soil of the Liverpool Plains around Quirindi NSW. Its high in protein and nutrients, contains no dust, is low in sugar and horses love the taste. We have 20kg sealed bags, stacked 40 per pallet. These are available year round for country-wide delivery. Smaller pallets are also available by special request. You can also collect Manuka Haylage direct from farm by prior arrangement. Alternatively, ask your local produce store to become a stockist for Manuka Haylage.
