24.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all our friends and supporters in all the communities we travelled to and beyond. To those men battling prostate cancer - we’re thinking of you and your loved ones today. To those we’ve lost - we know you are shining bright in the sky #manupforprostatecancer

24.01.2022 This time last week, we were giving our information talks to employees of the Glencore Hail Creek Open Cut Mine in Mackay. While we have since stopped tours for the moment due to COVID-19, we had a great response last week from the crew who asked lots of questions. Thanks for hosting us Hail Creek!

24.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mums out there. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your day!

24.01.2022 We were very honoured to be invited to speak at Duncan Pegg - Member for Stretton annual Queensland Women’s Week event in a Calamvale yesterday. We joined a wonderful panel of speakers - other women who are pioneers in their field or experts in their industry - and shared our own story of two women tackling prostate cancer head on. Thanks Duncan for including us and the amazing work that you do for your electorate.

24.01.2022 First week of visiting Clermont done and dusted! We travelled to the Central Highlands region to visit our first ever mine - and favourite community - Clermont Open Cut Coal Glencore. Always a pleasure visiting these guys and gals - we leave feeling refreshed and pumped for the rest of our tours! #manupforprostatecancer #manupontheroadtour

22.01.2022 Thanks Macs Engineering & Opposite Lock Mackay for hosting an information session yesterday. What a way to kick off our Mackay Tour! The team was great, and we love our little gift you made for us. That one is going in the office back home! We can’t wait to come back and visit you all

22.01.2022 Our first COVID-safe virtual educational talk! We were pretty stoked to pull on the jeans and ManUp! shirts to do a virtual presentation with the team at Chevron Brisbane today where more than 150 staff will tune into our talk from the comfort of their desks #manupforprostatecancer #manupontheroad

21.01.2022 Not sure what will happen to your sexual function once you have prostate cancer treatment? Just because you’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer, doesn’t mean that your quality of (sexual) life has to suffer! Check out this great article below from our friends at Icon Cancer who explains some of the impacts further, and what you can do about it #manupforprostatecancer https://iconcancercentre.com.au/the-impact-of-prostate-can/

20.01.2022 Only a few short weeks until we get to listen to the incredible Sam Bloom! Are you coming along? Get your tickets now on our website www.manupaustralia.org.au #aneveningwithsambloom #manupforprostatecancer

19.01.2022 BTS Like nearly every other business out there, we took the opportunity to ‘pivot’ during COVID-19 and film our presentation so that we can continue our prostate cancer educational program virtually! A huge thank you to Ben from X Media for taking the time to film our talk - these guys are the best in the business

19.01.2022 Happy Monday all! We know we’ve been quiet on social media recently, but only because we’ve been super busy! The current pandemic has given us the opportunity to work on some amazing projects, including a new video of our presentation. Watch this space for exciting things to come! Thanks to @xmedia for helping us shoot our new video last week #manupforprostatecancer

18.01.2022 Last Wednesday we made the trip out to Kalbar for the inaugural Ipswich Prostate Cancer Support Group Kalbar Information Evening. What a great night! More than 100 people turned out to listen to local urologists, nurses, specialist prostate cancer care nurses, survivors, and us! Such a fantastic group and resource for the @scenicrimrc local community - we were very honoured to be part of the night #manupforprostatecancer #manupontheroadtour

17.01.2022 It’s Men’s Health Week! So to kick this week off, here is your monthly reminder to get your PSA test if you’re due to have one. Book an appt with your GP today! #ManUpMonday

12.01.2022 September marks Prostate Cancer Awareness month in Australia, and what better way to kick it off then with your monthly reminder to go and have your annual PSA test if you’re due (or overdue!). We know these are not normal times, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look after yourself and make an appointment to get your PSA test. Early detection is key! #manupforprostatecancer #heymatehowsyourprostate

12.01.2022 We are big advocates of supporting others in the not-for-profit industry, so we were delighted to wander up the Toowoomba Range last Friday to support the annual Women of Stength luncheon hosted by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. What a wonderful day, with guest speaker Jessica Rowe, and all proceeds from the day going to the Toowoomba Hospital Emergency Department. We can’t wait for next year’s event!

11.01.2022 2020 is the year of the nurse and midwife, and today we celebrate International Nurses Day! Thank you to all of the nurses who work tirelessly to look after us - particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. And a particularly big thank you to all the Prostate Cancer Care Nurses who work day in and day out to support men living with the disease, and their families. You do truly special work ... #InternationalNursesDay See more

10.01.2022 This morning at 6am, we proudly stood on our driveways as the first rays of dawn broke, remembering the brave men and women - past and present - who have served our country. Thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do. Lest we forget.

09.01.2022 The ManUp buggy - made by Andrew Carding - is on the road with us. This buggy has made its way to Mackay and will be making appearances across the town. Keep your eye on our page to see where it will pop up throughout all of March!

09.01.2022 Today we are celebrating our co-founder, Brian Costello, 69th birthday. We are sure he would be so proud of what ManUp! has become today - from the charity that started with minimal funds and a 6 weeks education tour with his wife and co-founder Jill; to the organisation that it is today, visiting 71 regional and rural communities over 10-11 months each year, with his daughter Leah stepping into his shoes. ManUp! was not only the brainchild of Brian, it is now his legacy. So Happy Birthday Brian, we know your star will be the brightest in the sky tonight #manupforprostatecancer

08.01.2022 Six years ago today, Brian and Jill Costello took off on their inaugural Prostate Cancer Educational Tour (photo below). It went for 6 weeks, where they visited 37 towns around Queensland and did exactly 37 talks. Today, Leah and Jill take the roadshow around Queensland and New South Wales, and visit more than 71 regional and rural communities over a 10 month period, sometimes doing up to 11 talks in one single day. And while Brian may no longer be with us, we’re pretty sur...e he would be so proud of how big the program has gotten, and how many men we are educating about prostate cancer. 2020 may not have been our greatest year (thanks COVID!), but we can’t wait to tour again in 2021 - bigger and better than ever

08.01.2022 Happy International Women’s Day Today we are celebrating all the women who are making a difference in the world of prostate cancer - from researchers, to specialist nurses, to carers and family members of men living with prostate cancer, to our directors Leah and Jill who are tackling prostate cancer head on. Happy International Women’s Day to you all - may we all band together to make a difference

08.01.2022 At ManUp!, our mission is simple - we want to stop deaths from prostate cancer by educating men in regional communities to get tested regularly. Men just like Carl. Carl was diagnosed with prostate cancer over three years ago. Please take a moment to watch Carl’s story. ... Please make a tax deductible gift today and help us change the statistics and make a difference to the lives of men with prostate cancer, just like Carl. Your generous support will help save lives. https://manupaustralia.org.au/donate/

06.01.2022 This week is National Volunteers Week 2020. Our events simply could not happen without our amazing volunteers. They are the lifeblood of our events - they simply would not run as well as they do without the warm smiles and helpful nature of our volunteers! While it feels strange that we won’t be seeing them at our events anytime soon thanks to COVID-19, we know that once things open back up and return back to a new normal, our volunteers will be right there, waiting to help, ...with a smile on their face. To all of our volunteers - THANK YOU! This week is all about you!

05.01.2022 AN UPDATE for our supporters and communities we visit We understand that this is a challenging time, and want to reassure you that the health and safety of our staff, supporters and communities we visit are of utmost importance. As a result, we are taking the following action:... All planned tours and information sessions for March and April have been postponed. We will endeavour to reschedule these at a later date, when the threat of this disease has passed. Our Gala Dinner - currently planned for 6 June - is still proceeding at this stage. We are going to continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and will make a final decision about the Gala Dinner towards the end of April. We are closely following advice from the World Health Organisation, the Australian Government and Australia’s Chief Medical Officer and will endeavour to keep our supporters and community up-to-date on any changes as they occur. We will continue to work closely with all of our supporters and communities and reschedule information sessions and events where possible. For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact as at [email protected]

03.01.2022 In light of the recent Government restrictions around COVID-19, we have made the heart-breaking decision to postpone our Annual Gala Dinner, due to be held on Saturday 6 June. We are currently working with all suppliers, sponsors and donors on a potential future date when we are free to gather together and celebrate. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and comply with all advice given by Federal and State Government and WHO when deciding on a new date to hold... the Gala Dinner safely. Please keep an eye out for our new date and more information around the Gala Dinner over the coming months. In the meantime, please stay safe, wash your hands and socially isolate if you can - your health is important to all of us!

03.01.2022 A big thank you to Glencore Open Cut Coal Clermont for sharing our blue ManUp truck in your recent newsletter. Isn’t she a beauty?! According to the Clermont team, the workers love seeing it driving around in the pit! #manupforprostatecancer

02.01.2022 At ManUp we are dedicated to ensuring that every man living with prostate cancer has access to the support of a Prostate Cancer Care Nurse, so they have the information and care they deserve. Prostate Cancer Care Nurses are a crucial point of contact for patients and their families, coordinating access to care and services such as physiotherapy and counselling.
