07.01.2022 Anxiety it is something I am far too familiar with. For my entire life up until my mid 40’s, I battled debilitating anxiety about absolutely everything. I have... very few memories from my childhood and my 20’s because when you have anxiety, you’re never mentally in the room that you’re in. Your mind is always somewhere else. When I would tell people I struggled with anxiety, very few people believed me because on the outside I seemed like I had it together. I got great grades, I was fairly successful, I seemed like a happy person. But no one knew that I had woken up to a panic attack and just finished crying in the bathroom. One of the reasons why you have anxiety is because you’re constantly trying to hold it together. What people see on the outside is very different from what you’re feeling on the inside when you struggle with it. I hope this series helps you understand that dichotomy and makes you realize you are not alone in feeling how you feel. I’m on the other side of mine. I’ve got my life back and the first step to getting yours back is understanding what you’re dealing with. If I can get control of mine after 45 years of struggle, you can get control of yours.
