21.01.2022 Like Pear Harbor, Darwin was bombed by surprise attack by the Japanese during WWII. Like Pearl Harbor, the same military leaders planned and executed the attack. Like Pearl Harbor, the Darwin-based military was caught napping. In this instance, it was because: "From a point off the coast of Timor a fleet of around 200 (188 attack aircraft and 54 bombers, total 242, in another report) Japanese aircraft were despatched to attack Darwin. Early in the morning the aircraft passed ...over Bathurst Island and Catholic missionaries based there radioed Darwin. Believing the missionaries to be mistaken, the RAAF refused to act on the advice. As the formation began its run over the city the population went out to watch, thinking the planes were American." - Then all hell broke loose. Unlike Pearl Harbor, Australia knew Japan was at war with them, and an attack was a distinct possibility. Unlike Pearl Harbour, 243 lives were lost in Darwin compared with in excess of 2000 at Pearl Harbour, despite the fact that significantly more bombs were dropped on Darwin. A total of 11 ships, 9 in Darwin Harbour and 2 outside, were sunk. Question: Pearl Harbor was bombed once during WWII. How many times was Darwin bombed during WWII?

20.01.2022 I'm in the process of getting a qualification for Travel and Tourism. I commenced studies in February. As a participant in VET (Vocational Education & Training) related studies, I received an email notifying me that I could apply for a scholarship. Some of the selection criteria included demonstrating passion, ability and initiative in my approach to study. My teacher has asked for permission to use some of my work as a template. I guessed that would qualify me. NICE! And to ...demonstrate commitment to the NT and an intention to use my skills in this area. I have commenced a business in tourism here. Being the enthusiastic person I am, and intending to work in travel in the NT, both criteria met, I applied. 16.01.2022 Preparing to experience Awesome Autumn in picturesque Japan with ManYou Travel. The colours of autumn in Japan are spectacular to say the least. In my opinion, autumn is probably the most beautiful time to visit the land of the Cherry Blossom. 10.01.2022 Don't you just love airlines who email you an advert naming a place you want to go from $98 each way. Ooh! You beauty! You click the link & key in your dates and get told it's going to cost you $228 for the out leg & $768 for the return leg. And no matter what dates you key in, you simply CANNOT find any flights for anywhere even close to $98.
