10.01.2022 APPRECIATION POST: I just need to publicly acknowledge my gratitude for some amazing people that have turned my last 5 days around and restored my hope! The new...s of a second lockdown on Tuesday hit us Studio Owners hard... along with many other business owners out there. By the time we get out of this additional 6 week lockdown it will be a total of 5 months that our Studios have been restricted from opening! When I reached out to Brittany Flask (Director of Dance Nation Academy - DNA and Vanessa Marie (Director of Dance Machine) to see how they were coping with the news, it was clear that we were all feeling pretty devastated and anxious about hope we would get through these next 6 weeks. But out of one conversation came the idea to Unite all three of our dance studios to support each others businesses and keep our students connected and inspired in a new and exciting way! We launched "Studios United" 24 hours later!!! Next, I was blown away by the love and support of so many teachers that we contacted that wanted to be a part of it and help in any way they could! I cannot express my gratitude enough! Thank you Caetlyn Watson, Robert Sturrock, Scott Pokorny, Tim J. Barnes, Brittany Page, Ben Scarmozzino, Fiona Luca, Arna Singleton, Oriana Siewkim, Kyla Bartholomeusz, Stephen Morgante, Luke Alleva, SCIMM Dance Company, Joel Fuentes Gallarde and a number of other teachers and Industry mentors who we haven't even announced yet... but you know who you are! Finally, I was encouraged and lifted up by the beautiful messages of support from the parents and students at MAPA Australia who were just grateful to still have something to look forward to during these times and to have dance remain in their lives. So THANK YOU to EVERY SINGLE PERSON mentioned because none of this would be possible without you. We have been hearing the line "We're all in this together" a lot lately. But the last 5 days has been the biggest representation of that and I'm just so grateful to everybody! To anyone out there struggling right now, please know that you're not alone.
