24.01.2022 Mara, Llew, Andrew Robson and Steve Elphick perform at the Blue Mountains Folk Music Festival this weekend, presenting "The Child Ballads" programme in the Big Top from about 12:15 on Saturday. If you're going to the festival, it would be great to see you there! The show comprises 8 settings of Scottish folk tales collected in the late 19th Century by Francis Child, recently set to music by Andrew.

Musos include Martenitsa Choir with soloists Maria Koleva (from the Koleva family singers in Bulgaria) and Jenny Dornan, Ivailo Karamanliev (kaval) and Vas Haralambis (gaida), Laura Bishop (accordion) and Mara and me. Its a chance for mid-level players and singers to experience a structured course which will help develop your skills through world music repertoire from several countries - Brittany, China, Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, Iran, France; with a focus on arranging, improvisation and ensemble playing.
