11.01.2022 Hungry for love... Happy Valentine's Day!

06.01.2022 RESTAURANT TIPS 1) Do NOT feel obligated to eat every time a full 3 or 4 course meal, unless you want to of course! 2) Menu turistico... It’s normally a set menu, usually cheaper than Menu alla carta. In some trattorie you will find also menu della casa, which is normally a chef suggestion for the day. Generally they are good meals, but not the top of the list. 3) "Coperto" (cover charge) A standard little charge for your seat. It is not every time present, but if there is, it's not negotiable. 4) "Servizio" (service) Present rarely, particularly in tourist areas, can be a charge of 10%. It is not normal to find it, it is probably considered a sort of tipping. 5) "Mance" (Tipping) It is not expected or mandatory (especially when there is a service charge). Leave your change ( if is more than 1 or 2 Euro) or more, if you were very satisfied about your meal and the service, to show your appreciation to the staff. 6) "Acqua potabile" (safe to drink) Italian tap water is safe to drink, as well as the water from the drinking fountains you'll find around the cities. Bottled water in major and touristic cities can be excessively expensive, so you can take your own bottle and fill it up safely unless if you see a sign with write "acqua non potabile" (non-drinking water). 7) "Acqua" (water) In a restaurant you can order "Naturale" (non-carbonated water) "Frizzante" (sparkling water), "Leggermente frizzante" (lightly sparkling-water). Water it usually comes in a "Litro" (one-liter bottle) or a "mezzo litro" (half liter bottle). At restaurants, tap water is not common, but you can ask for it.

02.01.2022 ITALIAN RESTAURANT CODE If you know how to order from the menu in Italy you'll really enjoy the right food. There is a basic structure in an Italian menu: * "Antipasti" (appetizers) - light starters similar to Spanish tapas.... * "Primo piatto" (first course) - pasta or rice (risotto) * "Secondo piatto" (second course) usually meat or fish, sometimes cheese. * "Contorni" (side dishes) - such as "Verdure" (vegetables) or "insalata" (salad) * "Dolce" (dessert) - such as cake or gelato
