21.01.2022 3 sets of twins all standing next to their sibling kind of it has interesting to see the influence of NZ Romney on our lambs this year and I can’t wait to see them grow out in the next six months. We have had a bunch of rain the past few days and the ewes and lambs are doing very well in the conditions. We have exciting plans for 2022 breeding and at the moment, we will have 29 ewes being put out with rams.

09.01.2022 Lambing has concluded for 2021, we only had a small group this year bred to Tintern 607, however they were all twins which is exciting. We finished off with 7 ewe lambs and 3 ram lambs. Very good birth weights and loving the influence of NZ Romney into our flock already! Before last nights arrivals, we had a set of twins, a ram and a ewe, born on the 12th to MD150070. ... 20.12.2021 Another set of twin ewe lambs! This time by Merino Downs 170074. A very good protective and attentive ewe. Let’s just hope the next two ewes to go have twin ewe lambs as well. The ratio is currently at 5 ewe lambs, 1 ram lamb!

16.12.2021 Lambing 2021 has begun with two sets of twins, 3 ewe lambs and 1 ram lamb born this afternoon. Tintern 908 and Merino Downs 33-18 have lambed. Pictured here is Merino Downs 33/18 with her twin ewe lambs. All lambs this year are sired by Tintern 607 who is sired by Doughboy 227/13 from the Doughboy Romney stud in New Zealand.

07.12.2021 It's time to announce the stud sire that will we be using in 2021 We are pleased to reveal that Tintern Hugo 607/16 will be our stud sire. Hugo has been close to our hearts ever since we were at Tintern Grammar, Olivia and I both showed him and his dam in their showing careers. Hugo had a decorated career and is a 2 time winner of Supreme Romney at the Royal Melb Show. ... Hugo has a quality pedigree, sired by Doughboy 227/13 a standout sire in NZ and his dam, Tintern 318/13 is also a 2 time Royal Melb winner in 2015 and 2016. We thank Tintern Grammar for the opportunity to use a quality sire such as Hugo. We look forward to seeing his progeny at Marbella Romneys in July.

17.11.2021 Post shearing feels Pictured Marbella 04/20 All the ewe and ram lambs were shorn today. It’s great to see them out of their wool and see their lamb fleeces.

03.11.2021 It is 2nd vaccination day and weaning day today! It was our first good opportunity to have a close look over the lambs fleeces. The lambs are all quiet while they have access to feed. Some of the ewes are complaining a little bit but most of them are completely fine. We took our ram lamb Jeff, Marbella 200001, out onto the grass for some more photos. He was born on the 24th of July. Some photos of his fleece can be found below, first photo is taken at the shoulder and the second photo was taken on back leg.

21.10.2021 It’s been a very chill week at the farm. Our driveway is currently being fixed and cut in, which will make next winter a breeze when we need to enter and leave the farm. There’s been a crazy amount of rainfall the past two days and even more coming tonight. The ewes and lambs all look bright white compared to the pasture. All the ewes and lambs are doing well, our plan is to wean the lambs from the 10th of November. They are growing very well and it is nice to have plenty o...f feed available. We have some exciting news in the pipeline but that will be announced in the near future

01.10.2021 An update on the ewes and our pastures! We’ve had a crazy amount of rain in the past two days, nearly 30mm. So we’ve had to do some paddock switching to ensure our weight watchers ewes are limited in the amount of feed they have access to. ... Olivia and I are finalising everything for our 2021 breeding, at this stage, we have 22 ewes being put with a ram.

13.09.2021 A welcome video that I filmed yesterday introducing our 7 new ewes. They are settling in very well, and hopefully we can get them into lamb next year. An interesting bunch of ewes with very good genetics from Tintern and Doughboy in NZ.... Sorry about the wind. Hopefully you can hear me!

15.08.2021 Here’s some photos I took today while out in the paddock with the ewes! There’s a few comments on each photo about each of the ewes and lambs in the photos. The ewes are very healthy and in good condition after lambing.
