24.01.2022 I’m wondering, what tools and support would help you to get through this challenging time? One thing I do know, is you can navigate this time with strength, purpose and grace. It’s at this time many of us are realising not what can we get, but instead asking ourselves, who can we help and what can we give. When we go through challenging times our higher purpose isn’t to fulfill our own wants and needs but to be of service to others. You can use this time in a positive way... or a negative way. You can use this time to grow, to rise above the challenges and become who you are meant to be! None of us have gone through such a time in our modern history. We have not lived through WW1 or WW2. We have been privileged in so many ways, to the point we have taken so much for granted. This is our opportunity to become who we are meant to become. Women who shine. Give back to others and set an example. It’s time to be grateful for what we have and the privileged life we’ve lived. I want to help you be this example to yourself, your family and friends. With such massive changes to our lifestyle, it would be expected that we feel exhausted and maybe even slipping into a fight or flight mode making it harder for our brain to see a way forward. Our habits have been challenged. Our brains are finding new ways to do things which isn’t comfortable because the brain is designed to conserve energy as a protective mechanism. 06.01.2022 Last week I’ve invited women in our community to share what they feel is most needed right now. The honesty and vulnerability in their comments deeply touched my heart. What I mostly heard was the need for emotional support. Many said they felt helpless in many ways but wanted to make a difference in the lives of their family and friends. Underneath their desire to help others was also their fear and anxiety as to how they could. This got me thinking about ways I can support you as my fellow women in the sisterhood we often silently share together, women I look up to, admire and believe are at the heart of our community. 05.01.2022 Are you tired of hearing Stay at home. Isolate. Quarantine and Lockdown? Traditionally these words have negative connotations. Historically, they have been used to keep people in their homes during times of crisis, such as war, illness, indicating the need to be protected from something bad. ‘Lock down’ is a word used in prisons, so it’s very jarring language we are now all hearing on a regular basis, and not about other people but ourselves and our own families. ... Words can have negative meanings, and when we relate them to our own personal lives they can create negative behaviour and feelings within our mindset. These negative feelings effect everyone around us, our partners, our children. They affect everyone we come into contact with, even our voices and words spoken over the telephone. But what if you were to change those words and instead of using the word isolated how about you changed it to grounded. What does grounded mean? Instead of being ‘isolated’ meaning you are on your own, locked away, you could say ‘grounded’. Being ‘grounded’ can mean becoming aligned in your head and heart space. Trees are grounded by their roots making them stand strong and firm in the storms and cyclones. No matter the weather, the tree is strong and steadfast. Walk away from the constant news of doom and gloom and get out of your head listening to all the noise and clutter out there. Become grounded in yourself. Shift your thinking, realise you do have choices, and create opportunities instead of hardships. Become creative in your thinking.
