25.01.2022 Is your Mini Cooper or Cooper S making a rattle on start up or while driving? Don't leave it unchecked as more than likely its in need of desperate timing chain repairs like this little r53 cooper s. As you can see the timing chain is sitting away from the crank sprocket as it becomes loose, due to a failing tensioner or failed sprockets/guides. This owner got in just in time, 1 of the guide rails was found in the sump! (Right hand side you can also see a gap between the guide and the chain) If this sounds like your Mini, don't hesitate to contact us for immediate repairs

The legendary 5sfe engine from the Toyota Camry was towed in with a snapped timing belt, and LUCKILY these engines are non-interference, which means no piston to valve contact when the camshaft stays still and the crankshaft keeps rotating. 17.01.2022 Another quality in house engine reconditioned and saved from the bin. This engine had severely damaged crank and conrod bearings, 1 of each went for a spin. All repaired to as new quality, for not much more than the installation of a second hand engine. The cost of reconditioning vs second hand engine is weighted towards reconditioning with most common rail diesel engines being expensive second hand and sold with 100,000ks+ usually.

16.01.2022 Annnd yet another quality engine reconditioned in house ready to go home. Vw tiguan 2.0tsi for a piston and conrod upgrade using oem parts. Look how gunked up the intake valves get! This is an ongoing issue on direct injection engines that require the right maintenance to keeping them ticking over like the day they were new.

In this case, more than a few cylinders were very low on compression. If you know your cars not healthy or its not running how it usually does. 13.01.2022 Drove to the Morley shops for a coffee and on your way home all of a sudden all your lights are on the dash and steering is extremely difficult? Don't panic, were just around the corner and are here to help get you back on the road. Just like this customers bmw x1, came in Tuesday afternoon after a run to the shops the harmonic balancer bonded rubber gave out and threw the belt off. No stress for us and was back on the road Wednesday arvo. If you get stranded at the shops, save this number 9276 2459

13.01.2022 Vw polo gti water pump/supercharger clutch change out.. was showing codes for supercharger clutch malfunction, on further investigation it was clear to see the shaft was broken and was leaking coolant. New pump/sc clutch assembly later and its back on the road!

12.01.2022 Have a clunk in your Hyundai i30's steering? More than likely the little coupling has turned to dust inside the motor. In and out in a day no issues, back to the owner with nice and quiet steering!

12.01.2022 This Audi A4 presented with very rough running towed in for us to repair, and look at what we found after we removed the timing cover. The timing chain was sitting ON TOP of the sprocket! Which means this engine has already jumped timing and is extremely lucky piston to valve contact didn't occur. After installing the tools to correctly time these engines we realised the engine was 5 teeth out, also the oil strainer on the cam bridge had deteriorated and tried to take a jour...ney through the oil galleries, luckily keeping together and getting stuck where we could access it. All back together and back on the road with revised and updated timing chain components, running as per factory. A very lucky owner in this case! For all your euro car repairs, fixed right the first time.. you know where to go!

09.01.2022 Ferrari f355 getting a strip down to find the cause of smoking and low compression on one bank. We have found that the oem ferrari headers have collapsed and holed due to heat, damaging 1 cylinder. Stay tuned for update photos as this prancing horse will be as good as new over the next couple of months!

09.01.2022 2006 hilux 3.0ltr diesel came in going into limp mode, no noticeable issues from the owner.. Damaged turbo was the problem as shown, the adjustable vains in the turbocharger were seized and the ecu couldn't regulate boost pressure like it needed to, which was the root cause for limp mode. 09.01.2022 Here is another reason not to ignore the trusty but super annoying engine light.. we definitely understand it can be frustrating, but have a read. This Honda Accord Euro presented with an engine light stating that the cam and crank angle sensors were not aligned in the correct phases to each other. After stripping the engine to inspect, we found the cam timing was WAY off, due to a failed timing chain tensioner. This is the stuff that can cause major engine damage and you kn...ow what, the engine drove not bad. You could pick it wasnt perfectly smooth or starting the best but it functioned enough to drive. As annoying as it can be, if your engine light comes on, don't hesitate to call so we can be sure your investment isn't about to self destruct. Pics are before and after of cam timing marks. When correct, the marks are supposed to face each other.

07.01.2022 200 series Landcruiser Sahara V8 diesel in for a service and new water pump. More than anything what you can see here is the lack of corrosion inside the engine due to a very high quality coolant. We always recommend where possible, for the replacement of geniune coolant when repairing the cooling systems. Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Bmw, Vw, Audi and Mercedes to name a few all have very high quality coolant that lasts a long time and it is very rare to see corrosion in th...ese vehicles when maintained correctly. If you need to top up your vehicle, please use only distilled water until a repairer can diagnose why you need to top it up in the first place. 05.01.2022 Alfa Romeo 159 2.2JTS, complaint of extremely sluggish midrange performance. Timing chain and balance shaft chain were extremely loose, wore off the top chain guide, the harmonic balancer bonded rubber had started to seperate causing damage to the timing cover, and the exhaust cam variator solenoid has gone open circuit. Parts for these cars can be quite hard to come across, but with a little know how and engineering we got the job done. If you find yourself unable to get reliable and fairly priced support for these vehicles please message us for help. We can easily get the balancer, chain kits and solenoids at less than dealer pricing. For all your euro car repair needs, fixed right the first time.. you know where to go!

05.01.2022 Ford Ranger px1, a car we know intimately owning one as a work vehicle for a number of years now. This poor ranger suffered from an oil pump failure and credit to the owner for doing the right thing and immediately shutting the vehicle down when the oil pressure light appeared and making the call to see if we could save it. After an extensive look into the engine for metal and damage from lack of oil pressure the decision was made to save the engine as no damage could be fou...nd. Tight bearings in the turbocharger was the worst of it. We've used an upgraded oil pump with thick gears, instead of the fragile factory pump with viens more suited to hydraulic applications. New timing chain and turbocharger with new oil lines, gaskets and a few oil flushes we were able to save this engine from the bin. If the worst ever happens to you or your ranger, or any car for that matter. Remember to call us and see if we can make the situation better for you aswell.

05.01.2022 Lack of ongoing maintenance on these drum brakes resulted in deep grooves being worn into the shoes and brake drum, effecting there performance and causing noises during braking.. attached is a picture of the new brake shoes as a reference example with a new brake drum (not photographed) going over them to rectify the issue. Every service, drum brakes must be cleaned and adjusted if necessary.

04.01.2022 When you own a convertible, keep in mind that repairs from the dealers can be incredibly expensive and would probably scare you away from ever owning such type of car. Keep us in mind for convertible roof repairs and you can keep enjoying your car for much less than you'd think without stressing about leaving your first born as payment! This bmw e93 roof was not working at all, we had it back on the road quickly and for less than half of what the dealer quoted!!... Just in time for the peak of summer!
