20.01.2022 THANK YOU MAREE Dr Maree Elliott has volunteered at the Botanic Gardens for more than 9 years and her expertise and contribution as Curator of Fungi is highly v...alued by us all. Maree was awarded her PhD in Natural History Illustration in 2019 and her thesis title was: The development of a comprehensive Field and Laboratory-based guide for Scientific Mycological Illustration. A lot of her field work was done at the HRBG and specimens placed in our herbarium. Maree says she started the Fungi collection in 2010 with current Herbarium Curator, Pat Shearston, after sending a proposal to the Gardens' Board of Directors. At present her work Involves collecting, databasing and managing fungi specimens in the herbarium. Maree also holds workshops and forays for the general public and volunteers, writes grant applications for funding and promotes fungi through art and photographic exhibitions.She also finds time to attend and present at conferences to keep abreast of change. 16.01.2022 Hi there, I wanted to share my recent creative pursuits with you all. I make ceramic vases and carve designs into the clay. I’d love some feedback on these desi...gns and ideas for future designs if you’re willing. These are not for sale. I get my inspiration from some awesome places I’ve lived- Uluru, Kakadu, Arnhem Land and now on the far south coast of NSW.
