25.01.2022 Wrote an article for the local paper. Taking the opportunity to promote backyard sustainability.

25.01.2022 Something worth being aware of if you have chooks in the backyard (or guinea pigs or rabbits)

21.01.2022 The beauty of winter

18.01.2022 Forbes creek with a nice flow of beautiful water

15.01.2022 Something we want to continue to encourage.

15.01.2022 Misty mornings. Roosters crowing. Magpies chortling. Still and calm.

13.01.2022 A handsome Royal Palm turkey.

13.01.2022 As winter fades, spring abounds. Home grown nectarine tree in spring flower. Here’s hoping we get a little fruit from this dazzling display. #ilovenature

13.01.2022 Our first turkey egg. Very exciting. Shown here alongside the smaller chicken egg. Hopefully we will have baby turkeys in the future.

12.01.2022 A little bit of rain and then quite a bit and then a huge amount. Forbes creek starts to really flow

11.01.2022 Just a perfect day

08.01.2022 Mobile chicken house

08.01.2022 Not quite this bad at our place but close. Interesting comments. Your thoughts?

07.01.2022 Buds bursting despite the winter frost

06.01.2022 Beautiful evening

05.01.2022 If only I could share the fragrance with this photo. Glorious.

05.01.2022 Asparagus crowns finally planted. I got the plants types wrong. The ones I said were purple are in fact Argenteuil - an heirloom French variety. And the other ones are the sweet purple variety. These are all 3 year old crowns so should produce quickly although they say you should not pick any in the first year. Not sure I will be able to resist. Will post photos when they are shooting up well.

04.01.2022 Chicken brooders soon to be used. Although the middle one has a resident guinea pig currently. Soon to move to pasture!

04.01.2022 What a de Ligt. Sorry neighbour couldn’t help myself.

03.01.2022 Sadly conditions are not good enough to keep our cows through summer so they must go.

03.01.2022 Just to let every one know in the Forbes Creek area that our farm has had some thieves steal all our shearing equipment. I don't have an exact date that it happened. Clearly everyone should be vigilant and ensure things are locked up - sad but true. If by chance someone hears something about this equipment (Heiniger Stands x2 and 1x handpiece) please do let me know. #Forbescreek

03.01.2022 The tragic reality is that very few sustainable systems are designed or applied by those who hold power, and the reason for this is obvious and simple: to let people arrange their own food, energy and shelter is to lose economic and political control over them. We should cease to look to power structures, hierarchical systems, or governments to help us, and devise ways to help ourselves. Bill Mollison
