25.01.2022 We wish all our guests who are competing in the Great Ocean Running festival all the very best today. We hope that the weather is as kind to you as it was for everyone who ran yesterday. Best of luck

25.01.2022 Already finished the bodice ripping romance novel Aunty Bev gave you for Chrissy? Maybe youre wanting to find a handy manual for all the DIY youve got planned for the rest of your holidays. Head on down to the Apollo Bay Colleges Monster book sale this Sunday. There are thousands to choose from, youd be crazy to miss it. And while youre there grab a cake and a coffee too. FYI Cash only.

24.01.2022 Welcome to COVID-19 2.0 As of midnight last night we have closed to all but the most essential travellers. Essential workers People without a fixed address ... Vulnerable persons Reception is closed but if you have an enquiry please email us on [email protected] and we will get back to you within 24 hours. We are very sad that this has had to happen again. We wish you all the very best, stay safe, wear a mask and we will hopefully see you on the flip side.

23.01.2022 Looking for something to keep the kids busy on Saturday night? Heres your chance to buy them an unlimited ride band and let them spin themselves silly!

22.01.2022 Wowee! What a stark contrast to the beautiful weather weve been having. This sort of high tide coupled with a 6 metre swell is not seen too often.

20.01.2022 Walking to work on this beautiful morning and I was treated to a view of the shipwreck Wollomais windlass. Kate

20.01.2022 We can never say, that our guests fur babies are not safe in the park. Mel sat with Jasper for 4 hours in a cabin so mums son could pick him up after having a slippery fall on the rocks and had to go by ambulance to Geelong..Guessing not a lot of pet friendly parks would do this for there guests....

19.01.2022 The whales were in close this morning! The rocks you see in the background are of Hayley Reef at the front of the park.

19.01.2022 Dont forget to visit the Apollo Bay school fete from 3pm today. When Kate hasnt been if the office checking everyone in for their holiday shes been slaving away over a hot oven. Hope to see you there!

18.01.2022 Tomorrow, Fri, 3 Jan 2020 has been declared a day of Total Fire Ban in the Wimmera, South West, North East and East Gippsland district(s) of Victoria. No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01 AM on Fri, 3 Jan 2020 until 11:59 PM Fri, 3 Jan 2020.

18.01.2022 It is an absolutely spectacular day to visit the Cape Otway Lightstation today. Guests who stay at Marengo may recognise the anchor of Eric the Red, after which one of our cabins is named.

17.01.2022 They say theres a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..not here at marengo..theres our pot of fur seals..doesnt matter what time of the year..the park shines.

17.01.2022 Not the best footage but I promise there is a whale there. Video taken at the back of the park near site 84

17.01.2022 I snuck into the park today on my day off because I was yet to taste one of the Lone Ponys delicious toasties. I tell you what, it was so worth it. The mushroom, feta and sweet potato one gets a big big thumbs up from me. Thanks Si and Hannah.

16.01.2022 We have it on good authority that the childrens fireworks on the Apollo Bay foreshore will be kicking off between 9:30 and 10pm tonight. Grab a drink and a chair and we will see you all at the front of the park

16.01.2022 When the weather warms up its time to head to the beach. But please remember that the ocean can be dangerous and its important to know and be able to see the risks. This is a great and simple way to remember.

16.01.2022 Its certainly a challenging time for us and wed like to thank everyone who has contacted us to give their well wishes and support. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only essential travel is permitted and further government restrictions released at midnight on 25 March 2020 mean we have had to close our park to non-essential travellers. The Victorian Government has announced new measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 and the following is now in force: the facilities must c...lose, except where the accommodation is for the purposes of respite, for victims of family violence, other vulnerable groups or for care purposes. This includes caravan and camping parks, except where people live there permanently or as an interim abode where the primary residence is not available. If you have an upcoming booking, we are aware that you will need to cancel. This is understandable but it would be wonderful if you would consider changing your booking to a later date or accepting a credit (to be used by November 30th 2020. We would like to be more generous with the period in which credits can be applied but unfortunately DELWP has informed us they will not be renewing our lease at the end of November.) Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to the day we are able to re-open our park and welcome you back. Please look out for updates on Facebook. If you have any queries please contact us at [email protected] Best wishes, the team at Marengo Holiday Park.

16.01.2022 Kevin has come out of isolation like he was in hibernation, very hungry! He's very happy to see everyone enjoying the beautiful weather during the school holidays.

15.01.2022 Hungry tummies and plates at the ready? Nathan will be in the park from 5:30 tonight. He sold out last week so dont dilly dally if you want a night off from cooking.

14.01.2022 Drumroll please....Announcing our revamped Mens showers! Thank you to everyone that has stayed with us and put up with tile cutting/grinding noise and the use of limited facilities. We think they look great and work has now moved onto the ladies. Stay tuned.

13.01.2022 Staying in the park and tired of your own cooking? I know I am! I highly recommend heading down to have the lovely Leah (featured in today’s Age)make you breakfast at The Bayleaf. Leah has been doing it tough just like the rest of the tourist businesses in town. The coffee is delicious and the corn fritters with smoked trout are to die for. The Bayleaf is open for breakfast and lunch Fri-Tue from 7:30am.

13.01.2022 How is this brilliant photo of Marengo and the Milky Way taken by Jeff Wefferson. Check out his website at http://dolphinmatrix.com/Jeff

13.01.2022 Walking to work on this beautiful morning and I was treated to a view of the shipwreck Wollomai's windlass. Kate

10.01.2022 Call in and see our new receptionist Kevin and hell help you with all your holiday requests. Hes filling in whilst Kate is away glamping at Bimbi Park. On second thoughts if hes going to sit down on the job all the time he might have to find another!

10.01.2022 Dont forget to put your clocks forward 1 hour tonight. Heres to more daylight hours to spend at the beach and exploring our beautiful Otways.

09.01.2022 Take care in the ocean. This bluebottle was washed up on the beach this morning. Though rarely deadly their sting is very painful, even when dead and on the sand.

08.01.2022 How is this brilliant shot of the wreck of Wollomai taken by Joel Schrederis. The Wollomais windlass often emerges at low tide on the sand halfway between Marengo and Apollo Bay.

08.01.2022 Havent decided on dinner for tonight? Dont forget that Nathan will be in the park from 5:30.

01.01.2022 Who said koalas only eat gum leaves?! Certainly no one who has met Kevin. Here he is enjoying a feed of New Zealand Christmas Bush.

01.01.2022 The Light station staff have been busy doing loads of renovations during lockdown. They along with all the tourism based businesses have been doing it tough and are at risk of closing their doors next March.
