24.01.2022 Evan is conducting a really useful course..

24.01.2022 Fascinating course..

23.01.2022 A few pieces from last weeks classes in oils. This from my photo of Denali National Park Alaska-taken out of the window of a moving bouncy bus. The object was to find the directional marks with this steep landscape. I now have the use of 2 rooms-as you can see plenty of spacing.

22.01.2022 Another baby found a home today..

20.01.2022 Something to celebrate with some of the thursday morning crew...secret womens business! .....and Weary Dunlop staying at Merrylands RSL Club!.Lovely that it will be on public display forever-while the club operates. I'm kinda sad it won't be returning to my Gallery and the Gallipoli Collection here.

20.01.2022 Another work from Jan Loose..walking through a National Park in Canada I believe..she might tell us!? Again this painting is in palette knife. Jan has come a long way with her persistence over a few years. She has a high standard and now can start to sell her works. Not this one though ! as it has her hubby Chris in the work. In fact she has just about painted the family now.

20.01.2022 The last week...Marisa is experimenting with multiples..a few of fisherman..some pastels and some oils./and wow a garden! thanks Jeanette Zvargulis for donating some lovely plants which are blooming!

15.01.2022 Art Classes:The Carillion-Canberra. Oil on Yupo paper was last weeks subject-probably went over a week and a half as the building proved a difficult structure. Here is just a few..

15.01.2022 This Saturday..our 2nd gig. Theres plenty of space to be socially distanced at our venue. So fortunate that we came into this amazing property a year ago. The owners have been kind to the Artists Shed during lockdown and we are most grateful. Support us to support wonderful musicians who have been really effected by the virus.

14.01.2022 Last weeks classes completed another Lake Burley Griffin scene from Kingston foreshores overlooking the wetlands-at dawn. ( I didn't take the photo) This lesson was working oils onto Yupo paper-a lovely smooth surface. Heres just a few!

14.01.2022 Noice to be picked on Bluethumb Online Gallery!

13.01.2022 Some works out of the studio this week.. Suzie has been plugging away at this painting of Bondi Beach and finally she is done today..and wow -Isn't that water incredible? It started as a mural..but its a painting...Its in acrylic 'Flow' paints on a hard timber board. The next is Mary Donohue who has been doing some studies of Still Life which she arranged herself ..took photos and then worked from them..otherwise the fruit would be pretty mouldy after a while. The work is in inks on good watercolour paper. The flowers tree peonies?? were a loose exersize in classes..I loved these..I will have to find out who did them..They are brilliant!

11.01.2022 Big day of art deliveries to Sydney..but no Archibald for me this year! The HAPPY'S HUT (DESTROYED BLACK SUMMER) To the Mosman Art Prize,WINTERS EVE IN NAMADGI NATIONAL PARK-Wynne Art Prize. and THE INDUSTRY-Sulman Art Prize(only the top half-also Kathryn Spurling helped with this one as well, research and sanding of outer) This is a lottery..my only gambling addiction! $50 a entry. but here goes! Also a ute load of older art picked up for Artistic Vision Gallery. WE didn't stay long in Sydney hotspot..the galleries were very careful, but not the Auction House we went to. The usual media were waiting for Archibald entries..a lot of hype over it while the landscapers and mural/genre painters ignored

11.01.2022 Heres some more of last weeks painting lesson..part 2. using oils. Alaska-Denali National Park

11.01.2022 Look what Audrie did?? what a gorgeous dog! some more student paintings from last weeks still life and finished treescapes.

10.01.2022 Supporting all arts..this weekend..please come and enjoy.

09.01.2022 Some of the lemons, mandarines and limes painted a few weeks ago. Just catching up because I had one of those issues with Telstra..no internet for 3 weeks.I Pulled the plug on that company ! a total distaster! anyway.. heres some beautiful pieces done in inks from my classes. I love inks even though I don't use them often enough. Inks tend to be more colourful than watercolours. ENJOY THIS LOT !

07.01.2022 I am being positive and hoping that all being okay with Covid next year that we might be able to travel to Norfolk Island. We are aiming for 3rd May for 1 week,. It will incorporate some arting around the island. The shoreline is wonderful and also the historic buildings and boats are interesting subjects. We have a itinerary that includes the sights and also dinners and entertainment. Partners who are non arty are welcome -theres much to do including a beaut golf course. It...s not a 5 star holiday but a holiday thats big on experience and insight of the island life. I need a few more takers..and of course it will be postponed if its difficult. Contact Jeanette Zvargulis 0434652217 for brochure and info. I have included some photos from my first reconnaissance trip-getting to know Norfok. Also some paintings from the trip, done later. Now I know the spots I can direct you to. The trip will include tuition and flexible moments of plein air painting. Im also hoping for a famous pancake breakfast! See more

06.01.2022 Last weeks class subject was painting the inside of a cave at Uluru. I love the light of the cave. The medium was acrylic and Impasto gel to get a wonderful texture which helped to achieve a rocky look. The work started with a credit card type of card and some not all progressed to a large palette knife. No brushes allowed except to sign! Oh what fun!! for some it was torturous. Here is just a few-tell me your favourite..although they all look great..like luscious cakes!

06.01.2022 SOME fun pics from the shed lately! and a lovely finished work by Helen Holzappel in oils.

06.01.2022 https://artistsshed.com.au//events-and-music/groovin-at-t/ Join us at the shed this weekend..yes !

04.01.2022 Last weeks art class was Pen and wash(with gouache) Using a Pigma Micron pen and the subject is Norfolk Island boat or a 'LIGHTER'. They looked amazing! This is just a few..I can't show them all..please dont be upset if you're not here..not a reflection on the work..luck of the draw..so to speak!

04.01.2022 Snowy Mountains...maybe the Snowy River..Wow..Mary Donahue..you've come a long way! Mary comes to one of the mentoring groups now and is producing some magnificent paintings which would be enjoyed on anyones walls! Shes painting in oils and inks lately. Mary is one of those quiet achievers and has been plugging away at developing her craft. She is an example of talent is persistance and not giving up.!

03.01.2022 You never know who a buyer of art may be?...Peter has collected 2 works now..and is one of Franks 'Yobbo' Friends coming in for coffee. Hard working, clever and friends with Bohemian Frank,he must have sense of humour! Peter wanted this work to remind him to be grateful of others sacrifice. In this case it is JOHN SIMPSON-KIRKPATRICK-The man with the donkey.

03.01.2022 Another amazing painting by Jan Loose! This one is up for sale if anyone is interested? I think the poolroom is getting full!! It has been pretty well entirely done with palette knife and paint shapers and in oils. It really shows how much detail can be achieved with these tools.

02.01.2022 Worth coming to https://www.facebook.com/events/758956878230089/

02.01.2022 NEW WORK-finished..a little different-feelin the winter! painted in 'Flow' acrylics.

02.01.2022 Heres some beautiful works coming out of the studio this week! Jeanette Zvargulis has produced some brilliant blooms! Helen Holzappel a difficult but wonderful snow-gums landscape and the last is Edwina Walsh finally completed her very delicate and beautiful seascape from Tassie. (I beleieve) All these are in oils and are done by those in mentoring groups. ps-flowers and seascape are for sale! if you are liking these works-let me know.

01.01.2022 Helen finished this beautiful gumtree at Flinders Ranges last week..

01.01.2022 Heres some student works from last week before holidays started. A 'simple' Australian gum tree in a paddock. Taken from western Victorian wheatbelt.. south west of Ballarat. It was dry but they had managed to reap some hay to supply the rest of Aus. These really show how everyone can interpret differently!!

01.01.2022 Some of last weeks class pieces..students paintings. They are all a little different again. This is a from a roadside scene on a country drive probably around Cowra area. (Central NSW) This lesson was done in Flow acrylics which is a sloppy acrylic paint. It works well for those fine branches. which is you fav?
