Please Don't light new fires Do secure fire boundaries Do reschedule any hazard reduction burns planned for this weekend At this stage the Shire won't be issuing a Section 46 Notice under the Bush Fires Act prohibiting the lighting of any fire or requiring the extinguishing of any existing fire, however this will be reviewed regularly in the lead up to the weekend. 13.01.2022 The members of Margaret River Volunteer Fire & Rescues would like to thank our outgoing executive members for the effort and service. Jeff Bushby for his service and leadership as Captain of our Brigade over the last seven years. Jeff's diligent service and work ethic has been an inspiration to our members. We would also like to thank Garth Baxter for his seven years’ service to our brigade as the Apparatus officer taking care of the plant, equipment and buildings... for Margaret River VFRS. We would also like to thank Keven Cartwright for his three years’ service as Secretary for Margaret River VFRS.

This could put a strain on volunteer resources. At these times you must not: - Light, maintain or use a fire in the open air. - Carry out any activity that could start a fire. This includes: - All open fires for the purpose of cooking or camping are not allowed. - Hot work such as metal work, grinding, welding, soldering, gas cutting or similar is not allowed unless you have an exemption. 01.01.2022 Prepare now for severe weather in parts of Pilbara, Midwest-Gascoyne, Goldfields-Midlands, Perth Metropolitan, Great Southern, South West, Lower South West ...Update: 05:15 AM, 23 May 2020 Locations which may be affected include Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Carnarvon, Denham, Esperance, Exmouth, Geraldton, Kalbarri, Kalgoorlie, Katanning, Mandurah, Manjimup, Margaret River, Meekatharra, Merredin, Moora, Mount Barker, Mount Magnet, Narrogin, Norseman, Northam, Onslow and Perth. WEATHER DETAILS - Widespread damaging winds, averaging 60 to 70 kilometres per hour with peak gusts to around 100 kilometres per hour are likely and could cause damage to homes and property. - Locally dangerous winds, averaging 80 to 90 kilometres per hour with peak gusts of around 130 kilometres per hour are possible near the low pressure systems during sunday afternoon and overnight. - Residents in coastal areas between exmouth and augusta are specifically warned of the potential of a dangerous storm tide. Tides are likely to rise significantly above the normal high tide mark with damaging waves and dangerous flooding.
