The committee would like to thank the events supporters and will look forward to seeing everyone at the Southern States 72nd Highland Dancing Festival June 2021.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Hailee who was recently awarded the 2020 Wattle Range Art and Culture Recognition Award for her valuable contribution of highland dancing in the community. Nominations for this award were open to youth up to the age of 25 years of age, with Hailee winning the category of Arts and Culture for her outstanding achievements in the art of highland dancing and her active engagement in preserving the Scottish cultural practice within the community. Due to COVID-19 a private award ceremony was held with Hailee receiving an engraved glass plaque and a cash prize of $200 that was generously donated by Thomas DeGaris Clarkson Livestock & Property, Penola. 10.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful mothers at Margaret Cleves School of Dancing

10.01.2022 Today was a very exciting day for two groups of Margaret Cleves dancers who were able to perform as guest artists at the MJ Dance Competition Display that was held at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre. The Margaret Cleves junior dancers performed a Strathspey and Highland Reel, and three of the senior dancers performed a special choreographed dance. An enthusiastic audience was most appreciative of both highland dance performances. Well done girls!

10.01.2022 Margaret Cleves School of Dancing would like to advise that the SA State Championship competition for tomorrow has been cancelled. Thank you.

08.01.2022 M.C.S.D.’s future champions. Our little dancers were very excited to be back at the dance studio today. When asked by Mrs Reichelt at the end of class if they had enjoyed being back, it was a big unanimous ‘yes‘ with an added ‘it was AWESOME’ from Zander.

06.01.2022 In light of COVID-19 and the serious health impact it has on our community, M.C.S.D is taking all reasonable steps to ensure the wellbeing of the students and their families. At this stage classes will continue to run as normal, although M.C.S.D now has strict health procedures in place in line with the COVID-19 safeguards as recommended by the Australian Government Department of Health COVID-19 infection control training. As COVID-19 is spread from person to person through ...droplet transmission, we ask that each parent informs their child to the importance of remaining the recommended social distancing of 1.5 meters from another person. We love the close friendships that our dancers have with each other, however, at this time we do ask that all students swap out their normal hugs for a wave or even a Namaste. Parents will no longer be able to enter the studio, this is to ensure that the social distancing space can be maintained. Please drop students at the studio door. As a person can be infected with COVID-19 by touching an object that is contaminated with the virus and then touching their nose, eyes or mouth, for this reason protective cleaning will be undertaken to ensure that surfaces in the studio remain free from the COVID-19 virus. Parents are also asked to ensure that their child maintains good respiratory hygiene and regular hand hygiene during class. There will be a bottle of hand sanitiser placed outside the studio door and all students will be required to correctly sanitise their hands prior to entering the studio. It is recommended that students also bring to class their own hand sanitiser to ensure regular hand hygiene is maintained throughout class. Importantly, the studio will undergo routine environmental cleaning, with frequently touched surfaces repeatedly and thoroughly cleaned with an anti-bacterial cleaner, and minimal touched surfaces regularly cleaned with an anti-bacterial cleaner. The health of our M.C.S.D community is important to us, and we wish to keep the dance school open until otherwise advised by the Australian Government. This is a very trying time for everyone. We ask that anyone that is not feeling well, if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms, to please stay home.
