Art for this regular group is all about connecting and giving. We draw strength from one another. 08.01.2022 On Friday’s we have Art Gym - it’s a coming together to stretch our creative thinking and our creative skills- mixing our personal stories together and having s...ome mindful time - where practicing ‘being in the moment’ and breathing into the process comes first. I always need some time after class to release my energy - it’s a complicated dance the facilitator/ teacher performs -creating the mood, giving purpose, explaining process and then having the sensitivity to approach each student as an individual with their own specific needs- oh ! And and to help them find their inspiration. - Thankyou to the teachers who have shown me how to do this for others - I remember what worked for me and that’s what I pass on - some times it’s a wobbly process, something’s it’s clear and straightforward but like this leaf, it always has a completely unique form each time it occurs.
06.01.2022 Our retreat finished with a great exchange of discoveries and insights - and our usual show and tell was happily rounded off with gin and tonic leftovers indulging and then the farewell dinner- a visit to more fabulous hotel options for consideration next time and now having some down time in Canggu with hubby and friends and drawing just for fun by the pool @ Bali
06.01.2022 I’m reminded of that thing today - When an adult comes back to a long forgotten happy place - it’s a wonderful thing to witness- you see it in their eyes and you feel it emanate off them. 04.01.2022 Yes, We are all creative. Listening to pod casts today and I really agree with this idea - that If we don’t exercise it ( our creativity) and give it time and space in our lives it turns ‘malignant’ within us. It becomes, negativity, anger and intolerance. I think this is an incredibly good reason to give guilt free, playful time to developing a creative outlet as part of our regular health and recreational activities. ... In any room full of adults, we certainly don’t all identify as being ‘in touch with’ our creative selves - but it’s certain that it’s a big part of who we all are ... and engaging with it in a mindful and fearless way, might feel uncomfortable to start - but- like learning to ride a bike - it comes back to us with that childlike familiar goodness very quickly. How do you exercise your Creativity? Perhaps you’d like a few ideas to get you started?
