15.01.2022 We love our beachside studio apartment the @the_dunes_ It doesnt get much closer to the ocean than this, with the dunes right across the road. And our guests love it too: Perfect spot for a beachside getaway in Prevelly. The studio apartment is well equipped, sparkling clean and in an amazing location. The hosts were very helpful and fast with communication. A really nice touch is the Weber bbq and a lovely outdoor area. Thanks Aimee

Stop off for a break on your drive and take a walk through the forest floor, binoculars at the ready. You might see purple crowned lorikeets, splendid fairy wrens, white breasted robins, crested strike tits, golden whistlers and many other birds. The team from nearby @LakeCaveMR reported a large flock of Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoos hanging noisily about for the last few days, mercilessly hacking through the honkey nuts from marri trees. So destructive, but so beautiful! @echoeimages

02.01.2022 Love a bit of history! Thanks @margaretriver The charred remains of Wallcliffe House surrounded by once-carefully manicured gardens lies on the Margaret River bank. The historic stone house was built by the Bussell family in the mid 1800s and destroyed in the devastating 2011 Margaret River fires. Their 16 year-old daughter Ellen Bussell famously helped save the lives of around 50 people when the SS Georgette sunk, and youll find a plaque at Redgate Beach honouring the her...oic effort of Ellen and her fellow rescuer Sam Isaacs. Ellen is also credited with discovering the @LakeCaveMR doline! . If youre lucky enough to paddle down the Margaret River, look out for the historic remains. . @michaelsarich See more
