25.01.2022 Haven't had a cocky pic for a while. Got lucky today with this bloke posing in just the right position in just the right landscape.

24.01.2022 I got asked a few weeks ago to take a pic of David Hohnen on his motorbike for the Cape Mentelle newsletter. I did it more as favour to Dave than anything else. A great opportunity for a chat and laugh with one of the legends of the Australian wine industry. So it was a nice surprise to receive this thank you from Cape Mentelle for taking the pic, including a bottle of their iconic Cabernet Sauvignon (love the new midnight blue label guys). And now I'm sharing a pic ...of the thank you as a thank you for the thank you . Too many thank yous?

21.01.2022 Came home to this bloke on the front lawn last night. Giving me a bit of stink eye for interrupting his dinner plans.

19.01.2022 Yeeeeew!!! Very very exciting to share this pic. First guests from interstate in nine months! Mary and Tim from Queensland got the news that WA borders were opening. They got all their medical approvals to enter and booked the first available flight and here they are wandering out yonder in WA. They first saw the Margaret River Discovery Co experience on a 7.30 Report episode wayyyy back in May and took note. They've been watching how well Western Australia has done thro...ugh the pandemic and couldn't wait to visit once the health authorities gave the all clear. They've spent the last few months planning an epic road trip along the South West Edge and heading all the way to Esperance, Kalgoorlie and back to Perth and now finally doing it. Stoked to have you here Mary and Tim. If you see them on the road, give em a big WA G'day with an elbow bump . Sooooooo good to have all the Australian states getting back to some degree of new normal. For the record, all Covid protocols are in place for WA tourism and hospitality operators.

17.01.2022 I dont even know how this little bloke is still in the pouch? Two legs and two arms and a head hanging out .

17.01.2022 Not the best quality photo as I was at a bit of a distance, but still very happy to have seen my first Rainbow Bee Eater of the season . Perched atop a Balga tree flower, overseeing a smorgasbord of insects in the sticky nectar below.

16.01.2022 I gotta acknowledge the level of local support I've received over the last 6 months has been remarkable . It genuinely blows me away how many locals I've had the privilege of hosting recently and I can't say thank you enough to everyone that has helped support my business through these difficult times. I've had people that know the region well, people that have been visiting for 20 years, born and bred Margies crew that have lived their whole life here, some new crew th...at have just moved to town and other days it's a bunch of locals just wanting to be taken out for a fun day. Yesterday was a special one with local wine industry legends Vikki and Mark Messenger wanting to share the day with their Perth based sister and bro-in-law. Two of the nicest and most humble people you could ever hope to meet. I first worked with Vikki over 15 years ago at Voyager Estate and started drinking Marks 'Juniper Estate' wines the first time they welcomed me to dinner as a newbie to Margs. Sooooo good to be repaying some of that Margaret River hospitality all these years later

15.01.2022 I think most people return home from work to an excited tail wagging dog. At our place we have the neighbours kangaroo bounce over for a pat and a chest scratch .

14.01.2022 Another one of those tour days you just don't want to end! Bit of treat today hosting Toni and Graeme from Pemberton Discovery Tours. I knew we were off to a good start when they turned up bearing gifts of Pemberton avocados ...... and great day of sharing stories. They also bought their buddy, Christine Wilder, one of Western Australia's leading bird experts. And wouldn't you know it, the bird whisperer delivered sightings of almost all of the icon birds of the South We...st. If you ever find yourself in Pemberton you absolutely MUST get on a tour with Graeme and experience the grandeur of the Yeagarup sandunes on his beach and forest eco adventure

14.01.2022 If you've ever done a Discovery Tour you might recognise this Peppermint tree that is growing out of an old Jarrah tree log on the Margaret River. Look closely you'll see one of my all time fav birds, Baudins Black Cockatoo, using it is a drinking platform

13.01.2022 Lucky enough to score an invite to the opening of the brand new Shelter Brewery in Busselton last night. Wowza! What a pub . I have a sneaking suspicion this is gonna be a game changer for the people of Busselton. The whole bayside precinct brought to life with an epic venue. The beer is bloody good too!... Congratulations to everyone involved in making this happen .

13.01.2022 Kristelle and Joel from Perth leaving a banging review on AirBnB. Cheers guys! Means a lot you enjoyed the day so much - "This tour was one of the best things we have done in Margaret River. Highly recommend especially if you're like us and love food/ wine but also prefer to wander off the beaten track and find adventure. ... Rain or shine, I can't recommend this experience enough! Speaking of rain, because of the weather forecast we were actually afraid of being caught out on the canoes while raining. But Sean was so prepared and an absolute professional - bringing everyone waterproof Gortex so we didn't get the slightest bit wet AND we got to experience Margaret river in the most magical way. Honestly, being on a canoe with the trees and clouds mirroring over the water and rain trickling down... it was one of the magical things we have ever experienced. And so many rare wildlife came out at that time! I would do this tour all over again just to experience Margaret River like that one more time. In terms of food, amazing. And it was an awesome experience to be able to have lunch and taste some delicious wines in a private setting amongst the wineries barrels. Overall, this tour was an unforgettable experience, just the right balance between adventure and good food. Sean is a great host and by the end of it, our small group all became friends (no matter the age group). Thanks for such an amazing experience Sean!"

08.01.2022 I love this Covid lockdown story from the tour today. This is Russel, Margaret, Lesley and Lauren who all live in apartments in East Perth. They didn't know each prior to Covid. They all met as walking group that formed among the apartment dwellers of East Perth after lockdown. They used the opportunity to create new friendships on their daily walks together. ... And here they several months later as best mates, travelling together, canoeing together and enjoying some cracking good wines together. I gotta admit I'm a sucker for a good Covid story and this one put a smile on the dial

07.01.2022 Yeeeeewwww! News just in from the Margaret River Wine Show ......... Fraser Gallop Estate have just won the trophy for best Rose of the show . If you've been out with me on the Discovery Tour in recent months you will have heard me say "I reckon this Rose is gonna win the Margaret River Wine Show". Turns out I should get a trophy for predicting the trophy . ... Congratulations to all the Fraser Gallop team, particularly Ellin Tritt for being the Rose queen of Margs . This is actually her second time producing a Rose that has taken out the trophy and delivered her the coveted Pink Jacket!

06.01.2022 Well what an awesome afternoon that was . With no major Gourmet Escape event in November this year we needed a gourmet fix and signed ourselves up for the new Wine Lounge Launch and Seafood BBQ at Cape Lodge . Extra bonus indulgence points for unexpectedly finding other mates in attendance that helped us devour the best BBQ seafood we've ever eaten!... Here's a big double thumbs to mini Gourmet Escapes .

05.01.2022 Rippa day hosting Augusta royalty today . Prince Dave and Princess Jasmine. The two legends are two of the most passionate born and bred locals I know. I first met Jas when she was tourism dynamo as the Marketing Manager for our local Margaret River Tourism Association and the CEO of Australias South West. And somewhere along the way I met Dave out mountain biking and our friendship blossomed in full blown bromance that has lasted over a decade. So much so we even let him... design our house. These days these two are the dynamic duo heading up one of the largest trail planning, building and design consultancies in Australia. Common Ground Trails. Specialising in developing strategies for the establishment of hiking and mountain bike facilities that connect people with trails, spaces and landscapes. So good to get them out of the busy work life to and get them doing the stuff they do for other people. Connecting with trails, spaces and landscapes . Love yeeeews guys

03.01.2022 Saturday arvo in the fishing holes .

02.01.2022 Starting to feel a bit like summer
