22.01.2022 I know the weather is a little rainy and unpredictable at the moment but how amazing are all of those rainbows? We love heading to the beach, rain or shine, summer or winter, to give us a boost of energy and colour in our cheeks.

21.01.2022 Beach family sessions are my favourite for sure. In-house guests receive special rates for my 1 hour family shoot and I promise they’re not just a process. My sessions are very relaxed, super fun, unposed and about you just being yourselves, having an outing with me gatecrashing with my camera. Easy as that. Pop over to my website, have a scroll through the galleries and pop onto the blog (which I’m trying to update!!). If you’re interested drop me a message and we can chat more. 19.01.2022 Our days of short term fostering the little goats came to an end on Wednesday. We took them back to their owners and said a farewell but luckily for us, they only live 5 minutes drive away and we can go and visit them when we like. There was look of delight on their faces when they saw how much foliage they could get their greedy chops into!! We will miss them dearly but I have no doubt we’ll help out again next year when more baby goats are born. Bye bye Sami, Twinkle, Harriet and David. (Ps when I say we took them I mean we put the 4 of them in the back seat of our Ute where the kids would normally sit...one of our most amusing drives in recent years...I’ll pop a few dodgy iPhone shots on stories!).

18.01.2022 Make sure you spare a few hours down by the beach today, the weather is exceptional (but the raining is coming tomorrow night). There are so many to choose from and you’ll never be battling with crowds, or even more than a handful of people on most days. Which is your favourite beach to head to?

17.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there on this wild day. A big shout out to ours who not only is an amazing father to our 3 littles, but cares for 3 miniature Irish donkeys, 2 lambs, 2 baby goats, 7 alpaca, 2 little cows, 4 ducks, 2 chickens and 5 sheep, who follow him around on a daily basis, and will do anything to get a good scratch for 5 minutes. No time to find all those wonderful photos as we are full full full!!

17.01.2022 When you’re staying with us make sure you spare an hour to go for a little bush walk out the back of our property. Now is the perfect time to start keeping your eyes peeled to look for the beautiful wild flowers which are starting to bloom. Our ‘Discovery Walk’, just a 500m loop is perfect for those with little legs and less patience...just get them to find the pink tags!

16.01.2022 Our latest addition located by the fire pit so everyone has access to a fork to toast their marshmallows. Or do you say roast a marshmallow ?

10.01.2022 We finished renovating our last timber cottage yesterday . Apart from a clean, my last task has been hammering nails in to get some more photography on the walls. It always puts a smile on my face knowing I have somewhere to showcase a bit of my art. The next task is to get more and new photography in our brick cottages and 4 bedroom cottage. It’s all there waiting to go up, we just need a gap in between check ins and check outs now! @juleswhale

08.01.2022 Augusta // One of our favourite places to explore whether we have a couple of hours or a full day. Pick up yum fish and chips from @blueoceanaugusta , head to Flinders Bay to eat them, let the kids enjoy the pirate ship playground, paddle or go for a dip in the bay then head around to the water wheel for a wander. We promise you won’t be disappointed. by me @juleswhale

08.01.2022 Sun is shining, the weather is sweet... and the school holidays have begun . The animals are ready, the playground is ready, the firepit is ready, and we’re here to give you all the best holiday experience .

07.01.2022 It’s always so lovely to see kids keeping themselves entertained in our little playground. Mud cakes with Gumnut sprinkles are a firm favourite at the moment. Parents don’t forget to bring a few changes of clothing for the kids...we guarantee that they won’t be clean after a few hours.

05.01.2022 Lamb spam on a Tuesday afternoon, what more could you want? So an update...not only do we have Henry pictured here, but we took in another little rescue at 1 week old, and we’ve called her Luna. Henry and Luna are often seen on our deck around the office chasing each other (well it’s more like Luna chasing Henry), snuggling each other or knocking down our brooms, playing like puppies. Henry loves a cuddle so feel free to do so, Luna on the other hand tends to run away but she’s happy if you finally catch her (good luck with that). More animal updates coming soon! @juleswhale (me) @ Margaret River Holiday Cottages

04.01.2022 A big apology for not posting something for a few weeks but most importantly a big hello to our new followers! It’s been a very busy few weeks with lots going on so let’s start with hair cuts! Henry and Luna received their 1st ever from our sheep shearer, Trevor, and the older ones all got a shave too. Henry didn’t know quite what to do with himself as he spent several hours after his hair appointment hiding behind our legs. The other animals seemed to all find it fascinating once the naked sheep were released from the old diary...understandably there was a lot of staring and strange looks.

04.01.2022 Some of you may not be early risers but try and attempt at least getting up at sunrise one morning now we’re heading into summer...it’s worth it I promise you. We love this capture by @themackieclan , thanks for sharing with us. Can you spot the kangaroo?

02.01.2022 Three down and one to go!! We’ve now completed the renovations in our One Bedroom Timber Cottage (number 5 for those who have stayed in it before) and its looking smart if we do say so ourselves. The kitchen and bathroom vanity was ripped out and they’ve been replaced with gleaming white cabinetry and Marri wood tops like the ones in our brick cottages. There’s now a full oven with gas top (not just the gas top) so you can cook away! Check our stories for more photos of this cottage. The last of the timbers to go is number 8, our ‘2 couples timber cottage’ .

02.01.2022 This is Belle, our beautiful and very friendly miniature Irish donkey who’s having a baby early next year. She knows how to pose, and as requested by her, I captured her ‘good side’ . Come and learn more about our partnership with @banksiaparkirishdonkeys and @banksiaparkalpacas at animal feeding.

01.01.2022 Kitty our growing calf. She doesn’t know it yet but she’s getting another new friend from tomorrow for about 6 weeks. Shiela our local legend has been rescuing so many calves in recent days and she needs help in re-housing them. We try to offer support where we can so we’re helping out in the short term and we have arranged a long term home from November. Keep an eye on stories tomorrow!

01.01.2022 Say hi to Twinkle and Sami, the baby goats we’re looking after for a little while! For those following along on our stories you’ll have seen what busy little things they are but when the sun is out they often lie down here on our deck to have a snooze. They’ll be heading back to their owners after school holidays when they don’t need bottle feeding 3 times a day.
