24.01.2022 Christmas is coming - this is the time where it is all to easy to go and buy your beloved babies(big and small) way too much. Children not only become overwhelmed by too many toys but i know in my house it's a case of where on earth do you put it all? So choose quality over quantity and let the toy library take care of stoage. We habe amazing high quality toys and lots of them. And if there is something you really want your child to play with and we don't have it at the toy library- suggest it to the committee and we will see if we can add it our collection. It's really that easy.

14.01.2022 WARNING: DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE TOY Ok so the only problem is that Reuben has become completely obsessed with this dump truck, he won’t let it out of his sight. He eats with it, he brings it everywhere he goes, the first words that come out of his mouth in the morning are ‘dump truck’. We will have to keep renuing this one... This week we are open on Saturday from 930-1100

14.01.2022 The Toy Library is on the look out for more committee members, could it be you? Let me share with you the many benefits of being on the committee: - membership to the Toy Library is free ... - a low time commitment as we meet just once / quarter (though i wish it were more because i love the social aspect!) -we have our own key to access the library whenever we want - we get to choose what toys to buy for the library and get first pick of the new toys. -you can learn new skills / stay sharp in a low pressure environment (which looks appealing on your cv!) Being a committee member requires 8 shifts / year as the toy librarian, to attend our quarterly meetings, and contributing to discussions and decision making on our messenger group. If interested please email [email protected]

11.01.2022 T'was 3 days before Christmas, And all through the town, People wore masks, That covered their frown.... The frown had begun Way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic Changed everything. They called it Corona, But unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer. Airplanes were grounded, Travel was banned. Borders were closed Across air, sea and land. As the world entered lockdown To flatten the curve, The economy halted, And folks lost their nerve. From March to July We rode the first wave, People stayed home, They tried to behave. When summer emerged The lockdown was lifted. But away from caution, Many folks drifted. Now it’s December And cases are spiking, Wave two has arrived, Much to our disliking. It’s true that this year Has had sadness a plenty, We’ll never forget The year 2020. And just ‘round the corner - The holiday season, But why be merry? Is there even one reason? To decorate the house And put up the tree, Who will see it, No one but me. But outside my window The snow gently falls, And I think to myself, Let’s deck the halls! So, I gather the ribbon, The garland and bows, As I play those old carols, My happiness grows. Christmas is not cancelled And neither is hope. If we lean on each other, I know we can cope. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. #christmas2020 #covid_19 #makeitspecial #toylibrary #mrtoylibrary #2020 #whatayear #merrychristmas #toylibraryaustralia

11.01.2022 We at the toy library need your support. We rely on the kindness of our beautiful community to grow & provide the most stimulating and educational toys for chil...dren up to 5 years old. Primary Goals for the Toy Library Environment: To be a model learning environment for children and adults. To integrate theories on how children and families learn. To strengthen the link between literacy and play. Benefits for Children: Improved outcomes. The quality of the environment is crucial to children’s development. Ability to learn new skills through hiring out available toys. Developmentally appropriate practice. Play is an important vehicle for developing critical cognitive and social skills. Young children learn best through open-ended, self-directed play creating a foundation for learning that will last a lifetime. Benefits for Parents: Peace of mind. Parents need to feel confident that they’re bringing their children to a safe place. Successful children. Allowing your kids to come see & play with our new toys will nurture their role plays & keep them smiling. Satisfaction. Parents will feel gratified by the enjoyable experiences they have with their children while playing with them with the new which are donated by our local business’s. The Toy Library Committee has put together a Wish List of toys that would completely change the Toy Library & help entice new families to join us. As you can imagine the toys we have already are well used & some are ready to be donated out of our library. The running of the toy library relies heavily on volunteers, who are all busy mums, doing the best we can. Unfortunately we have been unable to run our usual fundraisers due to COVID, which has impacted all businesses in some way, big or small. Our hope is to get big local companies to donate a toy from our Wishlist, you are more then welcome to pick a few if you have the capacity, alternatively if you know of any educational toys that are not listed that you would like to donate, we would happily accept. In return, we will show your kindness by displaying your company logo at our Toy Library premises & mentioning you on our social media accounts. If we could, we would also shout it from the roof tops, but that probably isn’t a good example to the little ones. If you would like me to send you our Wish List please email: [email protected] or call myself, Taz on 0423 367 422. Thanks heaps :)
