24.01.2022 Day 25. Discover Hidden Gems Scratch the surface and you’ll find some fascinating people and places but where to start? The Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River Visitor Centres are the first to know about new tours and experiences, and the quirky or lesser known attractions. Three new-ish experiences that spring to mind are Passel Estate’s conservation walks through their possum sanctuary and paired chocolate and wine tastings, Augusta River Tours along the Black...wood River, teeming with birdlife and dolphins, or Bike Swim Hike’s adventures along the Dunsborough coastline. There's also The Grove's Talk and Taste Experience, Brown Hill Estate and Arlewood Estate's tours and Jewel Cave's guided walk through the subterranean crystal chambers. 24.01.2022 Every vineyard in the Margaret River region has its own unique feature that sets it apart from everywhere else. This gorgeous setting photographed by @andiniria (via IG) can be found at Knotting Hill Vineyard, a beautiful estate located deep within the rolling hills of Wilyabrup and which provides some of the most Instagrammable views in West Australian wine country! A visit to Knotting Hill will most likely involve a long chat with one of the Gould family members who helped establish this estate from scratch back in 1997. There's just something so special about meeting the folks who have given their heart and soul to produce the beautiful wine we enjoy from this award winning region.
24.01.2022 You really couldn't pick a more diverse stretch of road to take a sightseeing drive through in the Margaret River region. Caves Road takes it all in, white sandy beaches, rolling vineyards and towering karri forest @tessomewhere (via IG) has found herself in here. There's something so pure about having no schedule to adhere to and just hitting the highway with your friends, the best thing about doing it in this part of the country is that you're always going to end up somewhere amazing!
24.01.2022 Planning your summer school holidays? Here's the best family friendly things to do for toddlers, tweens and teens, from playground adventures to surf lessons, and mountain biking to eco quad biking.
23.01.2022 The coastline along Geographe Bay is something of a natural wonderland with safe swimming beaches, stunning hikes, and crystalline waters. So let’s celebrate some of the best ways to take in the loveliness of the landscape, allowing you to eat, stay and play with a deep appreciation for the land’s all-round beauty.
22.01.2022 Day 4. Discover Wildflower Country There's a rainbow of spring wildflowers blooming, but unlike the everlastings up north, you may need to slow down and get out of your car to spot some of our specimens! Take a #wanderoutyonder through karri, marri and jarrah forest and you'll spy wildflowers of every colour - dozens of types of orchids, hot pink and orange pea vines and abundant kangaroo paws. 19.01.2022 At the very northern tip of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge is a spectacular walk trail running along dramatic clifftops that allow a view back in time to the weathered sea caves below. With so many of our West Aussie friends not able to visit the region over the past few weeks this section of the Cape to Cape trail circling the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse is the ideal place to come and spread those wings. Take a leaf out of Crystal Pringles' book and get amongst nature in this prehistoric national park.

18.01.2022 Now this is exactly what we look forward to on a cheeky midweek lunch date out in the Margaret River region countryside. The fine folks at Swings & Roundaboutshave been serving up some some of the regions best pizza for quite a while now but the fresh new renovation has taken the experience to a whole new level and this photo by @katie_kli has sent our food envy into overdrive.
18.01.2022 Day 5 of our spring bucket list - See the Light She’s been keeping sailors safe since 1903, and there’s no better way to experience Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse than to climb aboard a guided tour. 11.01.2022 When the largest animal on earth comes to visit (blue whale, they visit every spring) it'd be rude not to go and say g'day, right!? Dylan Dehaas Films was lucky enough to see twelve of these magnificent creatures over the weekend, and it looks like the people aboard Naturaliste Charters would have been bubbling with excitement too. Blue whales grow to around 29 metres and 170+ tonnes, making them the largest animal on the planet. They migrate through Geographe Bay each ye...ar as they travel between the Antarctic breeding and feeding ground and the warm 'maternity ward' waters of the Kimberley region. It's estimated that only a few hundred blue whales migrate along the West Australian coast each year, while around 35,000 humpback whales make the annual journey. Be sure to join a whale watching cruise before the season wraps up - there are charters departing Dunsborough and Busselton twice a day. If you have a Wander Voucher to redeem this week, whale watching could be a winner!
11.01.2022 Day 29. Happen Upon Animal Encounters Oh hi, handsome! The Margaret River Region is teeming with animal life. You can happen upon kangaroos, bird life, woylies and possums on tours along the Cape to Cape. Or you can visit an animal farm and find chickens, cows, pigs and emus. This cutie pie popped up to say hello when All About Margaret River took guests on a bushwalk looking for wild kangaroos. You could also try: Sunflowers Animal Farm, Wonky Windmill Farm, Eagles Her...itage, Country Life Farm, South West Eco Meet the Woylies and Discover Deadly. All About Margaret River Tours start at a farm stay where kids can feed animals and have scones with jam and cream followed by visits to a chocolate factory, a playground, a walk on the Cape Track and a winery (for mum and dad!)

10.01.2022 It's the "top end" section of the Margaret River region that's synonymous with raw untouched coastline, spectacular coastal trails and bluer than blue beachside views. Bunker Bay somehow magically manages to maintain a sense of removal from the rest of civilisation with the sparsely populated drive up Cape Naturaliste Rd which brings you to the protected bay. Like most folks who visit this picture perfect paradise in summer Jonny Melon - Adventure Travel Blog only has one thing on his mind; a dip in that glorious Indian Ocean right in front of his Pullman Bunker Bay Resort seaside chalet.
10.01.2022 That's it folks, the tools are hung up and growing season in the Margaret River region wine country has begun. As you drive along the iconic Caves Road stretch vineyards like Gralyn Estate can be seen with fresh leaves budding out after being pruned back for this up coming vintage. In just a couple of months these rolling hills will feature a sea of green leaves hiding the south wests most prized possession; award winning wine.
10.01.2022 Ever wonder why the Margaret River region has such a big reputation for producing some of Australia's best water men and women? Well this dreamy shot by Peter Jovic Photography should give you an answer! This coast is the first stop where those powerful Indian Ocean swells unload their energy in WA and growing up in waves like this builds huge confidence from a young age. It's not all big waves year round though, coming in to the summer season you can look forward to finding mellow waves for beginners at places like Smith's Beach and Boranup. Surfs up!

07.01.2022 The western ringtail possum is truly one of the icons of the Margaret River region. In fact, some may not know that the region is one of the last strongholds for the native marsupial as it is only found in the south-west of Western Australia. This shy, arboreal cutie is listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as being Critically Endangered so if you happen to spot one in a tree hollow like @wildlife_forever_m_r (via Instagram) here you are certainly one of a lucky few. Across the region much reserve land and conservation areas have been established to provide sanctuary for this national treasure, and together we can raise awareness and provide a brighter future for this special animal.
