24.01.2022 Our first snow of the season! On Friday night we noticed snow forecast for Mt. Field National Park. The first snow of the season, we couldn’t miss it! After a leisurely start at around 10 am, we found ourselves enjoying a coffee in New Norfolk by 10:45 am. What a lovely town steeped in history! 30 minutes later we passed the visitor’s centre at Mt. Field National Park and began the picturesque ascent to Mt. Mawson’s snowfields. The snow covered rocks and pristine streams wer...e stunning in the sunbursts. On the way back, we visited the Tall Trees walk and the Russell Falls. Stunningly beautiful and powerfully ancient. A quick stop at Salmon ponds (very nice garden) for a coffee followed by fish & chips in Constitution Dock. We will recommend this easy day trip to our guests and visiting friends. It only took us only 1 hour 20 minutes each way. What a wonderful and easy day!
