22.01.2022 I have completed this rather large pincushion just recently and I am so happy with the result. It is my own design using 1/2 and 1" hexagons, a little embroidery, fabulous quilting fabrics, three handmade pins and a nice heavy wool base. The pincushion is filled very firmly and features a triangle within a circle effect. This pincushion would make a lovely gift for someone special or you could just spoil yourself. 21.01.2022 Hexagon Needlebook Anyone for a pretty Kaffe Fassett Needlekeep? I am hexie mad at the moment. This is one of the prettiest items I have made for some time. I have used a 2" hexagon and some gorgeous KF fabrics to make this little cutie. ... It is totally handstitched and the half inch hexagons are sewn to the two inch hexie using an invisible ladder stitch. I have attached approximately 240 beads around the edge using glove stitch and a bright yellow floss. In my stash I found the perfect little vintage glass bead to use as a closure and some coordinating wool felt for the needles inside. The back also has a hexagon shape in some different shades so it is pretty which ever way you put it down. AU$38 plus $8.50 postage in a tracked AP box. 15.01.2022 I have just completed this little Navy coin purse and I love it! This would make a perfect gift for a special family member or just keep it youself. Like most of my hand made items this is totally hand stitched, with no machine work at all. The hand embroidery is on the back and front and makes a simple design really sing.... 14.01.2022 SOLD.......I have covered this top quality sewing tape measure (TM) with a sky blue hand dyed wool and embroidered a little freehand picture roses, blossoms and blooms. A hand made ceramic bee hive button sits amongst the flowers and I have added a mother of pearl heart button to the silver pull tab. On the back I have stitched a vintage mother of pearl carved flower that you press to retract the tape. This item is sure to be a family heirloom of the future. The TM itself is ...a premium quality Hemline 60" retractable tape which has a heavy duty spring mechanism for strength and durability. I have used a 1" diamonds papers, some half hexagons and some gorgeous Reproduction fabrics to make this little cutie.... It is totally hand stitched and the diamond shapes have been fussy cut to make a beautiful block. The inside shows more half hexagon pieces and the centre is a Drs Flannel for your needles and pins. In my stash I found the perfect little vintage glass bead to use as a closure and made a loop which keeps the book securely fastened. Measure: Approx 4" closed and 8" opened. $39 plus $5 postage in Australia

Made from hand dyed wool and adorned with Primitive appliques this needlebook is sure to become a family heirloom and would make a perfect gift for someone special in your life. The front cover has an appliqued sheep on a hill and "wool" is hand stitched in red. The heart shaped scissor fob and Birch Fanc...y Embroidery scissors are included in the sale to make a lovely set for gift giving. Upon opening, you will find a beautiful Moda quilting fabric featuring tiny little sheep as well as two pockets to keep your goodies. The edge is bound in a beautiful coordinating stripe which sets off the primitive sheep applique. I have added 4 pages of wool felt for your needles and pins. 08.01.2022 SOLD This pincushion has been a delight to make and "Hattie" the Circus Elephant is my favourite. I have named this creation after an elephant called Hattie who was an elephant in the New York City's Central Park Zoo and in 1904 she was described as the "most intelligent of all elephants". I have used a beautiful hand dyed wool in a deep grey blue and teamed it with a pretty textured red. Both Hattie and the base have been completely handstitched with no machine work at all. ...Her little ears are double thickness and have been hand quilted. I find hand stitching to be therapeutic and enjoy each and every stitch. I have added a cute little plaited tail in a coordinating thread, a little top hat and sad eyes. The hat has been lightly filled with fibrefil to keep its shape and has been gently stitched on. She stands atop a lovely sturdy drum which features pretty hand made arum lilies. All of the major parts have been sewn using a strong doubled Japanese quilting thread for strength and stability. As with all of my hand stitched creations this was made to last with attention to detail and high quality materials. The pincushion and Hattie have been stuffed VERY firmly using quality doll filling. $65 Overall height is approx 7" Diameter of drum pincushion is approx 5" Postage TBA as I will have to find an appropriate box. $12???

05.01.2022 Three Sheets in the Wind $120 I have finally completed this beautiful wool appliqué piece and fitted it to an antique Australian pine and ribbed glass laundry washboard and I think it has become my new favourite piece. Wouldn’t this make a beautiful addition to your shop, sewing room or laundry as a display? This scene evokes childhood memories when I used to help my Grandmother, who was called Venus, on Monday washing days. I fondly recall the old copper over the wood fire, ...endlessly filling buckets of water from the slightly rusted tanks and putting the blue into the three galvanized tubs for the final rinses. The top of the washboard has a small shelf and could be used to place a bundle of vintage dolly pegs and a block of sunshine soap etc. All of the fabric is hand dyed felted wool which has been collected over the years. I have used beautiful Valdani and DMC threads to create the scene and then affixed the appliqué to the glass using black Velcro adhesive dots. I have had difficulty pricing this piece as these vintage washboards are very expensive now, around $100 so should you have your own washboard or can procure one, the wool appliqué can be sold separately for $60. The little pouncing kitten is made up of a mustard herringbone patterned flannel, some black onyx bead eyes, whiskers etc and is firmly filled with top quality doll stuffing. Around her neck is a gold bell tied with a coordinating hand twisted collar. The pincushion is made using hand dyed felted wool fabric and is totally hand stitched using strong threads.. I hav...e made a tiny ball of wool which is firmly stitched and couched to the pincushion and added some hand embroidery in coordinating colours. This pretty pincushion is completely hand stitched, with no machine work at all. 04.01.2022 Ms OWL is made using a natural Belarus linen and a beautiful quality quilting fabric in a tiny pink floral. The little Owl is just 2.75" high and I have attached some circles of wool felt and vintage buttons for his eyes. I have used strong magnets to hold the owl to the base and the owl can pick up the cotton reel or your dropped pins very easily. This is truly a Multi tasking OWL. The secret Needle Keep is stitched securely onto the 2" Vintage wooden spool and is made using... the same fabrics and some wool felt for your needles. I have used a vintage glass button with a hand made loop to close the needle roll and keep your needles safe while attending your next sewing retreat. I have added 3 small quilting needles so this item is ready for gift giving. Each piece of fabric for the owl and needle roll has been stabilized using a quality iron on product for longevity. This pretty Pincushion/Needle Keep is completely hand stitched, with no machine work at all, and is firmly filled using my quality doll stuffing from Sth Korea. Ms OWL is stitched firmly to the covered wooden base which has a rare earth magnet to allow the mouse to detach while you choose your needle. I have used a strong doubled quilting thread for all of the stitching. PLEASE NOTE: The vintage Pin cube is not included in the sale but is 1" square so it gives you an idea of the scale of the item. I have used a 4" vintage wooden silk spool with amazing patina for the base. These spools are becoming very difficult to find nowadays so when my stash has gone, that will be the end of my spool pincushions. ...
